We’re situated in a very quite location about 1km down a well kept track outside the village of Orca in Fundao region, central Portugal.
On the land we have a good selection of native trees and fruits which include olive trees, Fig trees, Eucalyptus, pines, grapes, Cork Oak, hill Oak, a grow a selection of vegetables, later in the year we have many many local varieties of mushrooms, we also have our own water supply from a water mine.
A dry toilet is on site, and also basic washing and showering facilities.We’re situated in a very quite location, the odd tractor or farmers pickup uses the track that passes my land no more than a hand full of times a day, so it’s very peaceful here. You can pitch your tent or van in our Olive grove or we have small secluded areas to pitch your tent amongst the pines and eucalyptus. We can also have open fires except in the fire season, (roughly June til October) The village of Orca which about a 10-15 minute walk has 4 cafes, a traditional Portuguese restaurant, 2 small shops, a gas station, and an outdoor swimming pool, we also have a couple of wild swimming locations nearby. Within an hours radius you can visit Some larger towns such as Castello Branco and Fundao, and also Monsanto mountain village, that’s where the prequel to game of thrones was filmed, also Idanha Velha which is als close which is an old walled Roman city, (now village) where you can walk freely amongst the Roman and Templar excavations. Most days there is an outdoor market taking place within the local area (I mean local to be less than 40 minute drive. Orca is on the bus route and The roads are good to drive on here, very quite and well kept, in fact it seems like a Sunday on most days.
