Lodges with hot tubs in peaceful countryside near Falkirk

Draw a line between Edinburgh and Glasgow and you'll find Pirnie Lodge Farm in the middle. It's just over half an hour's drive from both. In fact, it's a half-way kind of place. It occupies the middle ground between glamping and self-catering. Home-from-home lodges feature carpets, cushions, and curtains. They have hot tubs outside. They have Netflix on the 55-inch Smart TV. They have a brilliant deck where you can take in the views. But they also have a real connection with the great outdoors, set amongst miles of open countryside, with fishing lakes, nature reserves, and country parks on the doorstep.

There are three lodges at Pirnie Lodge Farm, each with its own character and style. Daisy’s Den is a static caravan-style lodge, which means plenty of space inside. She sleeps up to six and has two bedrooms, as well as an open-plan living space and en suite (it has a power shower, naturally). Her neighbour, Poppy’s Place, is a modern timber-clad cabin that’s much more petite, sleeping only two, but has a similar list of amenities. And then there’s Lily’s Pad, with the cute style of a Hobbit hole and luxuries to compare with the others.

The farm is no longer a working one so it tends to be quiet and calm. It’s the kind of place where you can just relax; alternating between dips in the hot tub, reading and simply enjoying the countryside. It could easily be used as a weekend retreat from the city. But the proximity to Edinburgh and Glasgow also makes it a good base if you’re visiting Scotland from further afield and want to explore them both. Neither are too far for a day trip. And you have Falkirk on the doorstep too.

Welcome to Pirnie Lodge Farm, home to two charming holiday lets near Falkirk, which allow you to get away from it all. Our lodges are well out of the way in Slamannan Plateau on the outskirts of a picturesque, quiet, non-working farm. The village itself is a mile away, and there are no major roads for 5 miles and all directions. ntroducing our two charming holiday lodges, Daisy’s Den and Poppy’s Place. Our holiday accommodation is dog friendly and has great views of the surrounding area. Our guests find this the perfect location to get away from the stress of everyday life, while remaining not too much of a journey from the major centres of Scotland. Our holiday lets near Falkirk sleep 4 people and 3 people respectively, so you to come and enjoy the area as a family or as a couple. Both lets have their own hot tubs, 55 inch smart televisions, and beautiful views from our 8 acre plot. However, the lodges themselves are within driving distance of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling, and Falkirk, enabling people to see many of the great sites of Scotland at their convenience.
Nearby attractions

Pirnie Lodge Farm is in the countryside just outside the village of Slamannan, seven miles from Falkirk. The rural area is great for walking, cycling and countryside pursuits including horseriding and shooting. Falkirk itself offers plenty to see and do including the Falkirk Wheel. It’s the only rotating boat lift in the world which lifts boats 35 metres from the Forth & Clyde Canal to the Union Canal. You can jump aboard a boat to experience the ride. Another must-see in the area are The Kelpies, huge equine statues in The Helix, a green space linking Falkirk with Grangemouth which is also popular for walking and cycling. Callendar House, on the town’s outskirts, offers another day out. It’s a grand 14th-century house in the style of a French chateau with beautiful gardens, a tea room and a play area. Glasgow is just over half an hour’s drive away and Edinburgh is less than an hour – so if you’ve not come to escape the city, both make for exciting day trips.

Food and drink

A welcome pack provides a few basics and a couple of treats for your stay. For anything more, there’s a village shop in Slamannan, a mile down the road. There’s also a pub, St Laurence Bar, and a fish and chip shop. Falkirk has plenty of places to eat and drink and your host, Anne, can you give you the most up-to-date advice on where’s good to go. Perhaps try Christie’s Scottish Tapas for local flavours or Sanam Tandoori for award-winning Indian dishes. There are also plenty of independent shops and supermarkets to pick up supplies for cooking back at your lodge.
