Underwhelming site for $100/night
7 m travel trailer · With pets · Communication with the owner was consistently poor. Despite emailing specific questions about facilities, including water hookup proximity, I received no response. On arrival, the RV site nearest the 30amp hookup was inconveniently far from the water spigot, my 75Ft long hose wasn't long enough.
The owner mentioned last-minute repairs to the spigots and offered to bring a longer hose "first thing in the morning", but never followed through. I'd like to point out that he offered the hose, I never asked for one. When I reminded him of his offer, this is what he said to me by email: "You're a grown ass man. You could have left right away. Instead you choose to stay and leave a day early", "I'm not your parents and I refuse to babysit you.".
On top of it all, there's a high alert in that part of the Umpqua for Cyanobacteria. Will it kill you? probably not, you might just get swimmer's itch. But, it can be deadly to infants and dogs. No mention of that on the listing. We have an infant (1 1/2 yo) and a dog, so no swimming or playing in the water for us. We weren't aware of the bacteria, but seeing the thick nasty algae growth, my wife decided to look it up. Good thing she did.
We ended staying 2 out of 3 nights we payed for.
It's supposed to be a great fishing spot, so if that's your thing, you might enjoy the place. We aren't avid anglers, we're just a family trying to have a peaceful time close to nature, unfortunately this place just caused us lots of stress.
