01- Overlook view
Late night park manager inquiring
The camp site was beautiful. Had a great view of the area. My only issue was a “park manager” coming by our campsite late at night after we were all asleep, knocking on our window, wanting to see if we’re were staying the night. I told her we paid for a site, and that our verification was in our window, along with our car tag being registered for the night. She continued to argue with me about, until I just went back to sleep and ignored her. That is the only negative thing about the campground.

Runestone Park U1
My Wife and I loved the U1 site at Runestone Park. It does have a little incline you park at the bottom and bring your supplies up the hill to the site. What a beautiful view this site has and it sits above all the other tent sites.
We visited the runestone after setting up camp. It was everything I thought it would be, beautiful Scandinavian runes carved in rock. We slept so peacefully that night. The next morning we walked the nature trails for hours.
We will be back.

Nice quiet camping.
Nice location up on the hillside overlooking Heavener, Oklahoma. Many trails to walk including the Runestone location. Overall the campground is in need of significant maintenance.

Family campout
This was a beautiful site! The hosts were very friendly. We enjoyed the hiking trails, especially the Valentines luminated night hike! This was quite the hidden gem. We will definitely be returning to explore again.

(G1) GROUP SITE 1
Good weekend, even with bad weather
My family and I went out to Runestone Park for a weekend of tent camping. We originally booked site G1, but when we arrived in the evening and scoped out our site, we didn’t realize that the yellow hiking trail was right up against the edge of our site or that it was near the house with barking dogs. I contacted Amanda to ask if we could move to a different site, and luckily it wasn’t busy that weekend so she let us move to OP. I’m thankful we got to do that because it rained and sleeted part of the time we were there, so the pavilion was great to have at our site. It’s also tucked back at the end of the park, so it felt a little more private which was nice. The park also has some nice trails to hike and it was interesting to go see the runestone. Amanda was responsive and helpful. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the park and we would like to come back to OP during nicer weather!

Talimena Drive Camping
The park was great! I’m so glad we booked here! The sunset is unreal, the staff is so friendly, the restrooms/showers are well-maintained and we loved the trails and grounds. The campsite isn’t super close to the restrooms, but that wouldn’t keep me from booking again. We will be back!

Lovely campsite in the woods
This is a lovely, quiet campsite hidden in the forest above the main camping area. Peaceful and relaxing in a beautiful autumn setting. Camp hosts were extremely nice and very helpful. The scenery was stunning, the hiking trails pleasant. There is a lot more here than just the namesake runestone. Highly recommended.

Heavener Runestone Park Cliff Site
It was a nice place to camp, not busy and we enjoyed Clifford campsite one. The train in town goes off all night so for light sleepers that could be an issue . We enjoyed our stay and the facilities are nice and clean.

Beautiful
We booked this site and didn’t mind hiking up the hill, but since storms were coming in- Amanda told us she would recommend us taking a different spot incase we needed shelter from the storm. We took her advise and so thankful we did! It’s a beautiful place and the hiking trails were fun! We also found some geocaches!

T 3 Tent site
This site is directly across from the park amd probably the closest access to the bathroom. You sacrifice privacy for those things and are subject to more light from the bathroom and group rental building on either side. The more "hike in sites" sill have parking very close, so I wouldn't avoid them for that reason. There is not a water faucet in this site, would have to walk through neighbors site to access.
They lock the campground at night and have security cameras for the safety of campers. Very pretty area just up the hill from town and very close to other natural areas.
The hiking wasn't far but felt like a good workout because of the amount of stairs and elevation change. Probably don't need more than one night in this area to explore.

Heavener Runestone Park Cliff Site
Awesome Experience!
Amanda helped me and informed me the entire process. She was just as kind in person as through messages! The facilities are well kept and the grounds are really nice and maintained. The morning view from this location is really gorgeous here in the fall. There were no problems at all and we had a great experience here for our first fall in Oklahoma.

We had a great time at Heavener Runestone, largely thanks to Amanda. She was extremely kind and helpful, she explained everything to us and made us feel safe and welcome. She accommodated us and opened the gift shop up on her day off to make sure we got the stickers we wanted. She even drove a bag of ice up to our campsite! She’s awesome. Amanda moved us to the Overlook Campsite so we would have a large pavilion and a nice view. Hiking trails were good and the Runestone was cool. We had the whole place basically to ourselves. Train comes through all night, so just know that. If you’re a heavy sleeper or don’t mind, it won’t be an issue.

Awesome girls trip
Awesome spot to camp! Amanda is a super awesome host with all the information you need. They have a super cute gift shop that even has anything you might have forgotten or just need to grab some more ice for the cooler. This campsite looks right over the town, with beautiful sunset and sunrises. The area is super rocky so I would either bring an air mattress, or hammock camp. Bathrooms are clean, and showers on site. If you would like to go hiking they have a few good trails within the park.
We had such an awesome girls trip, and it was nice to get out of the city.

Heavener Runestone Park Cliff Site
We stayed at site C1 in our tent, and the views of the town were spectacular, and our host Amanda was amazing! That being said you can still hear a good bit of train noise from below even though you're at a higher elevation. So the next time that we stay we'll probably go with one of the sites that's nestled a little further away from the cliff side. We enjoyed viewing the runestones, and eating at the Southern Belle. Bathrooms were clean, and there are several pavilions available for a nice picnic.

Overnight stay with dogs
Camp was neat and clean including the showers! Loved having the electricity available. Hot dogs on the grill was super simple after a long day of driving. Camp manager was so nice to us! Trails are great and easy for anyone with dogs to walk. Great view of the town below. I love that they lock the front gate at night!

Overall we had a great experience. The campground is in a beautiful setting, great views and beautiful sunset. The campground is better suited for tent camping...there aren't any sewer hook ups for RVs and really not an actual RV site...just a make-shift area with electric and water hook up.

The view in this spot is great but unless you are fit and have a small pack only. It is mostly on a hill with a couple flat spots and one is the picnic table they offer. A big tent won't work either! The best view of the sunset though for sure.

The views and trails were beautiful, great spot for tent/car/hammock camping! Town close by with cute traincar Cafe: Southern Belle. The park was well taken care of and restroom/shower areas clean with a fun gift shop. Great outdoor experience!
