Alan is a Star Host
Star Hosts are highly rated, responsive, and committed to providing incredible experiences.
Located less than a mile from Lake Erie, our 1860's brick farmhouse is an area icon. This seven acre homestead is where we grow our own food, raise sheep, chickens and bees, bake sourdough bread, brew beer and wine, and create art in Copper Leaf Studios. We are a monarch waystation and have several acres dedicated to native pollinators, plants, and trees. Much like our farm's name, our place is warm, welcoming, rustic, and a bit gritty. We are advocates of inclusion, local community, and sustainable living. We love telling and hearing good stories. We believe in the powers of kindness and peace. We hope to share our part of the world with others. We have firewood onsite for HipCamper use. Our breakfast is not to be missed (included for Peace Portal & Covered Wagon sites; optional for tent campers) and features farm fresh & local ingredients. We offer an outhouse with a composting toilet as well as a traditional flushable half bath with running water and power. Pets are welcome. Message us if you have any questions!

My partner and I, as well as my dog, stayed at Flannel Dog Farm to enjoy the Total Solar Eclipse. Alan and Chris were wonderful hosts. They were very accommodating and were great with communication leading up to our stay. The property was beautiful and serene, and we enjoyed hanging out with all of the farm animals. There was plenty of firewood provided and the bathroom was clean. The breakfast made by Alan was delicious and my partner and I could not stop raving about it after our trip. We hope to come back to Flannel Dog Farm in the future, and we will be recommending the farm to all of our friends.

Bird sanctuary & farm camping- A+!
The farm is beautiful and peaceful and the campsite was so lovely. So many wild birds that I don’t get to see at home living in a city and not to mention my favorite camping neighbors ever, chickens! Alan and Chris are fantastic hosts as well and the bathroom is nice and has hot water. I recommend the sourdough, eggs, and pour over coffee to add on as extras, as they were delicious!

The most relaxing weekend!
We stayed in the Peace Portal and had a fantastic time! Chris and Alan were wonderful hosts and amazing chefs. The cabin had lots of blankets so we stayed warm despite the freezing temperatures. They also provided us with wood to build a fire, a fridge, outdoor outlets, and breakfast each morning. 10/10 would recommend!!!

Great camping!
100% recommend staying at Flannel Dog Farm. Alan is an amazing host. He answers questions quickly and gave easy to follow directions to the farm. He met us at the gate and gave us a tour of the camp area and offered us multiple areas to park our van. We came during a very rainy week and they had a level graveled area for us to park. They have lots of options for areas to set up camp, including a raised platform for tents. The bathroom facilities are clean and well lit for easy finding in the dark. They also have multiple places for campfires with chairs or benches set up at each area. We found the farm and surrounding area very quiet at night. Seeing all the chickens and sheep was fun as well.

Peace Portal Tiny House
Peaceful Respite
Alan and Chris are exceptional hosts. The Peace Portal is a gem on the farm. It was so fun to meet the sheep, ducks and goats and the breakfast + coffee was a gift.

Farm Stay Tent Camping
The tent camping was great other than the weather but there’s nothing better then some nice hot fresh made sourdough bread and bagels after a cold night. My only neighbors was a family of goats and some chickens. What a great stay.
