Super convenient and right off the highway if you're on the move and want to keep near the highway. On the other hand, pretty noisy from the train tracks that are directly adjacent to the primitive camping. Bathrooms with showers are always a plus. Overall, a solid place to stay the night.

Tenting - no elect. - with pets
Location is actually a campground. Tent area is rough ground, but private and clean make up for that. The management or owner that helped us was awesome. It says dogs allowed, but they aren't supposed to be in tent area, lol.. but every tent site had a dog and noone cared so that worked out! Showers are hot with great water pressure. 5am train is freakin LOUD. The thruway is constant traffic noise. But it's an easy drive to cedar point and lots of things to do nearby. Safe clean snd recommended overall !!!

This camp site is super easy to navigate and the bath houses were cleanly. Very friendly and outgoing host. They weren’t super busy when we stayed, so he let us pick our own site. I would definitely recommend this as a good place to stay!

The bath house was incredibly clean. The campground overall was very nice; hosts and other campers were courteous. We stayed in the primitive area and found poison ivy creeping into the area. Easy to stay away from it (if you know what you're looking for).

Pleasantly surprised...
We were a little surprised to realize the campground was so close to turning off the interstate...but pleasantly surprised when we drove to the way back part where the "Primitive Camping" area was that we booked. Other than one other little tent, we were the only ones back there. It backed up against a mature woods and the bath house was only a short walk. Very clean place. We felt safe and had a good nights sleep...even though there was a constant noise coming from some sort of manufacturing plant not far from there. All in all, we would recommend it. We drove into Milan, not far away for breakfast at the Inventors Restaurant. Beautiful little old-fashioned town that looks as if you are walking onto a Hallmark movie set.

The Hip Camp area was in a wooded area that was peaceful. There is a train that goes by early in the morning.

Nice little campground in Sandusky
I would recommend this place to anyone who is in the Sandusky, Oh area. It is close to all stores and amenities. It’s tucked in a secluded wooded area but not far from Cedar Point, an indoor water park and downtown Sandusky. The front is an RV park and the back area has a variety of different campsites. When I was there the campsite area was pretty empty. If it had been more crowded, it may have not been as pleasant but I got there early and was given my choice of any of the dispersed campsites. The staff was friendly and helpful. I met a couple on my last day but mostly stayed to myself. There is a train that passes close by and some people wrote reviews saying it was loud and bothersome but it didn’t bother me at all, in fact, I loved hearing it go by (train geek).

Busy but central location.
This campground is great for folks who feel more comfortable camping in a busy campground with more amenities. I tend to prefer something quieter with more privacy but my partner and I were traveling through the area and we needed a place to stay that wasn't too far from the highway.
We stayed in the primitive sites which gave us more space and privacy. We enjoyed the fact that we could have a fire at our site as well.

Friendly community, clean bath house, and good location. The only thing I wasn't a fan of is there's no free fire wood so I brought my own. Also train tracks near tent area is anoying. Other then that very well kept campground.

A gem of a campground!
My daughter and I LOVED camping in the beautiful wooded primitive tent area. It is near a clean shower house and the rest of the campground. The pool and game room are within walking distance. They have a playground, picnic area by the pool, a life-sized chess game and Jenga. There is so much to do that my daughter and I took our time getting to Cedar Point. We had a campfire and had no problem gathering kindling. The next day we had a picnic at the pool after packing up. Then we showered and headed to Cedar Point. Definitely the highlight of our trip. We already have plans to return multiple times with friends before the season is over.

Great spot for an overnight
Jon and the staff were very welcoming, and the property was lovely! The tent area was wooded and shady with beautiful trees, and the grounds had lots of amenities including a clean-looking pool and a nice little dog run.
I would definitely go back if in the area!

Cute clean campsite
Cute clean campsite. We did some tent camping in their private camping area on our road trip. It was very private with only one other occupied camp site. We stayed on a Sunday night though, so it was somewhat expected. Watch out for poison ivy! We were careful to pick a site where the ground was cleared. Some of the campsites were a little overgrown. You could definitely hear the train at night and traffic, but that was to be expected since it’s so conveniently located right off the highway. Bathrooms were clean and well ventilated. Staff was friendly and even brought the wood we purchased to our site for us! We’re looking forward to our stay on the way back!

Beautiful area. Very loud trains.
Tent camping area is beautiful. Bathrooms and showers are clean enough. Pool was nice. Staff was friendly. Everything would have been great, if not for the trains. The tracks are very very close to the camping area and they run all night long. They go by at such a fast pace that is extremely loud. I had a nice time, but I don't think I will return.

Unfortunately the overwhelming smell from the factory across the street and the loud trains running through the night made this a less than peaceful or relaxing experience. Maybe it’s ok in an RV but not recommended for tent camping.

Amazing Camping Trip
Stayed for a few night and it was so peaceful and relaxing. They had a vendor out where you could get food. A lot of activities for kids and adults! Definitely coming back! 100% recommend Staying here!

Alright, but issues with showers
We camped in our car here and our experience was overall decent. If we were tent camping we would would have had an issue getting a spot with decent ground since a lot of it was muddy. Bathrooms were clean and it wasn’t too busy in that part of the campsite so we were able to have some privacy. The main issue was that the showers didn’t have any sort of shelf to put your stuff before you go in, only had hooks. Plus the showers were super cold which was really disappointing so don’t book expecting access to a hot shower

Place was extremely easy to find and check in. Showers and restrooms very clean. Lots of tent sites!
The only thing I didn’t like was the road. Too close. So it was hard to fall asleep. But the rest was OK

Good option for a one nighter
We tented at the very back and it was private under the trees. The grass and picnic areas were well maintained. For someone needing to pull off for the night it is very close to the freeway, which is convenient but also you can hear very well. I got used to the traffic noise and slept soundly.

A friend and I used one of the primitive sites while hiking the Buckeye Trail this past weekend. It was everything we needed (place to sleep and shower). Bring ear plugs to dampen the Turnpike noise.

Great location and showers
Conveniently located near Cedar Point, this campground was good. Clean restrooms, nice staff. The primitive sites hook around the back to the left. The sites furthest back are farther from the train tracks. The trains run at night sometimes. Regardless of that, we would stay here again and recommend it!

Perfect location loved our stay
I loved our stay here! A cozy, quiet campground in a super convenient spot! They have a really nice pool and a game room with lots of fun things! Plus cornhole, basketball, awesome hot showers and clean bathrooms! We accidentally set up our tent in an rv spot because we checked in so late at night but they forgave us and even let us spend our second night in that spot! Which was great because we really loved where we set up. There is a train that comes through but really didnt bother us much.
