Sandbar Farm was purchased as our home and as a place for both sharing our love and knowledge of horses with others and providing a place for animals to re-group and sometimes recover in order to find their perfect human. We have accomplished this goal for many and some, like Nameless the Mustang, have found a permanent safe place here. Over the years, we have found that our human friends and relatives also find the farm to be fun, and a popular place to relax and re-group from everyday life. We hope that you will feel the same way after a visit. Learn more about this land: Beautiful camping spots among the pine trees. Wake up to deer and horses crossing the fields behind you, birds chirping and the fresh air smell of the great outdoors. We have our own fields and wood for hiking, quiet dirt roads for walking or biking with horses often available for trail rides at an extra fee. . We are also: 15 minutes from Stony Brook Park with its natural stone spring fed swimming pool and miles of hiking trails along the streams; 35 minutes from Letchworth Park, the Grand Canyon of the East with its amazing waterfalls; We are 15 minutes from Dansville, NY where the NYS Fesrival of Balloons occurs every Labor Day weekend and where the annual Poags Hole Hillclimb happens. Whether it's a big event of the Arkport Summerfest, there's always something fun to do, besides just relaxing. We also offer limited stabling for outside horses so you can enjoy the trails at more than 5 different parks. Phillips Creek/Turnpike Forest/Palmers Pond, Coyle Hill, Sugar Hill, Wag trail, Mendon Ponds and several others. Have a different hobby? Just ask and we'll let you know what's available.

Heaven? Haven? Both
We loved, loved, LOVED camping here!! We got to use the woods campsite and it was wonderful. Forester with AWD managed the trail in dry conditions-- we moved closer to the field before heavy rain. The woods were just perfection. Cool, mossy, beautiful, private, quiet, magical. Mosquitoes not bad and no poison ivy-- paradise! Our favorite wildlife observations were a Northern Slimy Salamander and many red efts, as well as hearing a Barred Owl and seeing dozens of tiny toads (which we loved every single one). We camped three nights, visited Letchworth and Stony Brook state parks. Both were stunning and we absolutely wish we had more time. Our hosts were friendly, helpful, completely chill, and so kind-- delivering us firewood and a cooking grate, and letting our kids interact with their animals. The donkeys are so cute, it's ridiculous. Wish we had more time to hang out! I was truly sad to leave, and on the long drive home our 5 year old was asking when we could go back. Hope we will manage sometime :) Thank you Jacqueline, thank you Rob!

Very peaceful and beautiful spot! When we arrived, we were greeted by one of the hosts and shown to our site. The campsite is at the back of the property and is entirely private. The host told us we could set up anywhere along the tree line and that there were two firepits to choose from. A trash can and a small cassette toilet are available for campers. One of our stay's favorite parts was interacting with the host's horses. Jacqueline gave us some treats to feed the horses and the baby donkey! We loved hanging out and playing with our dog during the day; the stars were amazing at night. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again!

A very peaceful spot for a couple of nights. Jacqueline was particularly accommodating as I was the first guest of the season and booked 30 minutes prior to a sunset arrival when my previous lodging fell through. Only downside was a limited cell signal at the site itself, but plenty of signal up the hill on road by driveway as I had some image galleries to transfer before turning in.

A absolutely wonderful experience.
I was tent camping in the winter. I came up to do photography shots, 2 hrs away at Niagara Falls and decided to stay here. This is the first time I’ve used Hip camp and thanks to my hosts Rob and Jacqueline. It won’t be the last. It’s such a beautiful property and my hosts were so kind and wonderful. The animals there were so friendly. I had brought my 6 month old companion puppy and the other animals on the farm helped her feel right at home. My hosts went way above and beyond in terms hospitality. I was expecting that much kindness. It was a bit overwhelming in a positive way. It was very faith restoring. I’ll be back this year in 2022 🙂. Needless to say. I’m excited to go back. Thank you to my hosts Rob and Jacqueline. I went for the photography, I’ll keep coming back cause the people.

PERFECT
Thanks to Rob & Jackie. What a beautiful place to camp. We set our tent right along side the horse pasture and before we could get set up, On of the horses walked over to say hello. So peaceful. I'm an early riser and it was so relaxing to wake up before dawn and have a cup of coffee while listening to the chickens and horses start their day. So close to Stony Brook - one of our favorite state parks. We will be returning.

Tranquility and horses!
This property is both peaceful and beautiful! We had a last minute trip with the kids. Jacqueline was very accommodating even with the last minute plan. When we pulled in I was already in love with all of the horses. They were absolutely beautiful. Sunday morning we had some meet and greet tim with them and the kids fed them some treats. It was only a short drive from Stonybrook State Park, and we spent some time there hiking and swimming. It was a beautiful weekend despite the bit of rain. We will definitely be return campers! 😁

Great private site on Horse Farm!
Great spot, lots of room and private. Had everything we needed for a couple nights of tent camping. The host Jackie was very accommodating to our late arrival and had everything ready for us. She even gave the kids a tour of the horse farm, super sweet! Site is close to Stony Brook Falls and Letchworth State Parks.

Delightful and relaxing
Staying at come find a smile was an awesome experience Jacqueline and Ron were awesome host s the campsite was amazing and they helped us with anything that we needed from helping us with wood and water. The setting was amazing set back in the woods all by ourselves with nobody around us for as far as we could see. So anyone considering staying there definitely do it.

Nice horse farm and hosts
Come find your smile was a nice place to camp with my two kids, we were the only ones there and had plenty of privacy which we were looking for. The hosts Jacqueline and Rob were extremely nice and accommodating. The horses that roam in the paddocks as well as the sound of the rooster in the morning made it a fun atmosphere. The only negative we experienced was someone’s loud music playing in the evening until around 1130, not sure where it’s coming from maybe one of the neighbors but other than that everything was great and I would recommend it.

Jackie and Rob were such kind, welcoming hosts. The farm was beautiful! The sweet dogs kept us company and the horses were beautiful. This was the perfect place to stay for daytime trips to both Letchworth and Stony Brook State Parks.

A wonderful farm stay <3
My boyfriend and I had an amazing time at Sandbar Farm. They were extremely welcoming and attentive to whatever we needed. Everything about our stay was great. We had the privacy we wanted while also getting to meet some very cool people and animals, easy access to town and parks if we wanted to get up and do something, and they were super dog friendly. We were able to buy some firewood for our personal campfire and paid a little extra to go on a trail ride with the horses (our favorite part of the trip by far). I definitely recommend stopping by Jacquelines and Rob’s farm. They made us feel like just a couple of friends stopping by for a visit. You can just tell how much love, time, and energy they put into their animals and their land. It was the perfect mini camping trip to relax after the craziest months ever!!

Site and hosts were great. No bathroom. Sweet, beautiful and happy farm animals were very happy to have the visit and attention from our kids. It made the stay very special. Awoke one morning to sweet sounds of a nearby horse chomping on some grass. There was a humming during the night that we were told was farm equipment on another property nearby. Overall, had a nice stay and would recommend.

Jackie and Rob are absolutely lovely people. They greeted me at the barn, introduced me to their dogs, and showed me to the site, which was private, easy to drive to, and furnished with a fire-pit and plenty of firewood. Jackie and Rob shared fascinating stories as we strolled around their property one evening, meeting their horses, donkeys and chickens. They are truly salt-of-the-earth folks and it's evident they are deeply devoted to their horse-rescue operation. I was extremely appreciative of the time they took to show me around their beautiful property and answer all the questions I had about their animals and operation. Overall, best camping experience I've had using HipCamp. The hosts are some of the nicest people I've met in my life.

Come Find Your Smile!
One of the best camping experiences
We are first time hip campers and while new to the community, we are well seasoned backpackers, car campers and just general get out pull over and enjoy the journey adventurers. We were seeking a location that was easily situated between a couple state parks that offered privacy and some creature comforts as we had our little one coming along with us this time for a few days. Driving up to Sandbar Farm we didn’t know what to expect, of course the pictures looked wonderful, and the location seemed about right… wow were our expectations completely blown out of the water when we were greeted by Jackie and Rob waving as we pulled down the driveway. Bright smiles, happy horses and a chicken or two (whom poop a delicious brilliantly orange breakfast egg) alongside a very friendly Timmy made us feel welcomed- while Rob and Jackie showed us to our site. We quickly settled in and setup camp. Jackie and Rob shared wonderful stories of the area, their farm, their passion for animals while giving us privacy. You could easily tell we were amongst great folks who were truly some of the most genuine people you could ever meet. The site we selected was private, within walking distance of amenities on the farm, easy to drive to, nicely shaded with clear views of the night sky, the fields of wild flowers, horses and had soft ground cover. The farm is well kept with happy animals about and at sun rise perhaps you might see a doe wondering through. Trash removal, water and wood were available on site and Rob and Jackie, made sure we had what was needed to enjoy our stay. We came to explore Letchworth and enjoyed it’s immense vistas, deep gorge and abundance of trails. Rob recommended we make it a point to visit even closer Stony Brook and we are so thankful we did. With a cool crisp creek / pool, within minutes of the farm it was refreshing after a long day of hiking. Back at Sandbar Farms, we were greeted with Pony rides (Thank you Puddles) a massive bon fire and some of the best people you could ever met, sharing laughter, memories of adventures and brilliant ideas. You could easily tell our hosts were kind of people whom were genuine and authentic, down to earth and driven by their passion for all those in their care. It felt as if we were camping on land that belonged to friends whom we haven’t seen from grade school many many moons ago. Jackie invited us to go Strawberry picking (in season) & delicious, made way for some fresh baked crepes over the campfire for breakfast. Rob shared some great stories, encouraging us to fall in love with the area and horses. Jackie and Rob were easily available should anything arise and you could tell they would give as much or as little friendly privacy as needed (we naturally found the perfect balance) coming and going as we pleased throughout the day. By night, the stars and moon were bright against the deep gray sky, while moon light casted shadows as we walked around the fields at night watching the fire flies twinkle and horses settle for the evening. In short, regardless if you staying for two nights or 6, with family or with friends, looking to lay back drink beer and poke a fire or seeking a day full of adventure, Sandbar farms is your base camp, and your guides are truly world class. We had way more fun than we anticipated and our little one surely found her brightest smiles camping out at Sandbar Farms. Probably one of the best camping experiences we’ve had. Thank you Jackie for sharing your land with us!
