Moon Farm Peace & Playful Serenity
One of the most beautiful hipcamp properties we have stayed at over the past few years. The host were very kind and welcoming to our family, they even gifted us with Organic free range eggs that were a delicious addition to our breakfast before we left. Our dog Banksy and their dog James played like long lost siblings. Perfect stay!

Popup camper with a full crew
My husband and our 2 boys (6 and 16) enjoyed our weekend. The weather was great for fishing, having a fire, playing guitar, and being outside the whole time. Views and property are great! The added ability to use a full bathroom is nice when you’re outside near the water. They also had a countertop ice maker which was nice to grab for some drinks. Having chickens outside our popup camper was nice for our 6-yo. Our dogs weren’t interested in them which was great. There was barely any traffic or noise after nightfall but there were dogs barking in the area throughout the 2nd night late into the evening. I’m going to say this was an isolated incident since no other reviews mentioned this. My birthday and anniversary was Sunday morning and, with everyone calling and texting, I lost track of time and we ended up packing up a little later than expected. John was great and never came out to hurry us up or complain that we were late. I loved hearing how this property will be growing in the future and all the possibilities to come. Hosts were the best and not intrusive at all. If you’re unsure about this place, definitely give it a try for something out of the ordinary because you’ll be happy you did!

Pictures don’t do it justice! Place is absolutely beautiful- host family was super friendly- tent site was perfect- bathroom/shower made it feel like glamping! Will definitely return!

The property was beautiful and so peaceful. Water and electric hookups for RV were in good shape and the site was level and easy to maneuver.

Convenience and privacy
Accommodations were perfect. The privacy was just what we were looking for. Very easy to get to. Highly recommend for a 1-2 night stay. Animals were an added bonus!

splendid stay.
John was a gracious , helpful, non intrusive host. Camping there was just right for me to stop in for the night as I traveled, nice green space to walk a loop around lake and fields with my dog. Extra nice to have electricity plug in and water right at my tent site, plus real shower and toilet. Did not use the
available screen porch covered kitchen but what an addition for me if it were raining! Will strongly consider next time i pass this way. Thanks John for opening your nice setting to me.

Loved our time at Moon Lake
From the start, we enjoyed every minute of our stay with John & Emily. John and his sweet daughter, Samantha greeted us upon arrival...making sure that we got situated in our site okay. Samantha even shared some of her delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies with us! I enjoyed walking the trail through the wildflowers & around the beautiful lake. It was so relaxing watching the birds flying in and out of the gourds and the beautiful white horses running around & grazing. The clean restroom/shower for us to use was a nice feature.

I really thought the place was wonderful. The directions were clear. John and his wife were quite friendly and very accommodating. They have a beautiful lake and very nice walking path. Overall a great trip. I do it again.

Perfect overnight campsite!
John’s Moon Lake Retreat is outstanding: clean, level and grassy tent area, convenient parking, and great amenities! We especially appreciated access to the refrigerator to re-freeze each our cooler’s ice packs! Beautiful views, and friendly horses - we’ll be back!

One of the most peaceful, beautiful Hipcamp sites we’ve stayed at. John and his family greeted us with such a friendly welcome. Great to have kitchen and shower facilities. We loved waking up to the sun on the lake and the sound of purple martins. All round big thumbs-up!

Host was very kind and made sure we were comfortable. This would be a great site for a couple of campers to share and enjoy the space. It’s a beautiful spot and an easy in and out location.

Camping by a lake
Moon Lake retreat is a wonderful camping spot. It’s a family operated retreat who all were very welcoming. We enjoyed our camper van parking spot, the walk around the pond and cooking, showering and eating in the camper pavilion. The kitchen area was spacious. Two burner hot plate, microwave and griddle. A lovely spot to enjoy a meal.
