Places of Sanctuary has 30 Acres of woods which include several dedicated hiking trails with beautiful clearings and benches for resting and reflecting along the way. You're welcome to fish in the pond where there is plenty of shade and sun or sit around the bonfire site on the benches provided and roast marshmallows. With two easy-access large tree houses, swings and a big picnic shelter, there's lots of room to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. You might encounter wildlife like deer, mink, ducks or geese, but you're sure to see our chickens running around and hear our rooster crow in the morning. Depending on the time and season, we offer several hands-on experiences with berry picking, chicken tending, food processing, gardening, and general light land maintenance like checking the trails for down limbs and trash. With gorgeous views and the convenience of being just 10 minutes from University Southern Indiana or 15 minutes from restaurants and stores, we welcome you to camp with us. If you are interested in staying longer than 5 nights or your RV/camper is longer than 32 feet long, please message us to see if we can accommodate your visit. Usually, we can!

Tent Site 2 is in a beautiful wide clearing off to the side of one of our widest hiking trails between the gardens and the Places of Sanctuary pond. It is a deer thoroughfare! You will be within reasonable walking distance of hot showers and flushing toilets. This site comes equipped with a fire ring (folding tables available upon request) and will accommodate one family tent or 2 small one man tents. If you have two larger tents, you must book two tent sites. If only one tent site is available on Hipcamp, please message us for additional options.

Parking Pad 1 is available if you're boondocking or camping in your vehicle and/or just need a place to park and sleep for the night. You still have access to bathrooms, warm showers, the trails, pond, treehouses and pavilion, but you do not have onsite electric, water, fire ring, or a dump station on-site. You can request and borrow a folding table if needed. This pad is situated at the front of the property overlooking the fields.

We had a wonderful overnight stay at Bill’s HipCamp! He was extremely accommodating and the property is fabulous with lots of walking trails. The bathroom was spotless and very new in one of his buildings. Nothing but rave reviews for this HipCamp!

The place was beautiful, They meet you when you get there and ask if you need anything. Very helpful and polite. Don’t forget to buy some eggs because they are some of the best eggs I’ve had. My family enjoyed it very much. Thank you again!

Bill and Robins land is the perfect Hipcamp! Great host, beautiful flat site with electric and water, set in a peaceful, shaded setting. The restrooms are immaculate. I recommend this host to anyone and look forward to returning in the future. Fantastic!!!!

We loved camping at Bill & Robin’s land. The drive in was a little windy and it took us away from the hustle & bustle. The sites are all next to each other but spaced enough for privacy and they were perfectly flat! We loved the land. It was on a farm with chickens, a turkey, and ducks! We fished on a pond before taking showers in their sparkling clean restrooms. Although they had fill hookups but it’s nice when you don’t have to use your own when traveling in a class B. We had a great time and recommend for a night or two.

Had a great time tent camping! We ordered a bundle of firewood for the night and Bill brought it to our firepit. And even helped light it since everything was wet. The hot shower and bathroom was great! We did have trouble finding the location, the app takes you to the wrong place. Make sure you read the directions and go on the right road.. would definitely come back

What a lovely property! If it wasn’t so cold when we were there this past week before Christmas, we would have ventured further. We did enjoy watching the ducks and chickens though! Hot shower and restrooms were a luxury I didn’t expect. Definitely book with Place of Refuge!

This place is great! There was availability when I arrived so the host allowed me to stay on an RV spot. The bathroom/shower was immaculate and very comfortable. The site was clean, level, and very quiet. It was definitely a “place of sanctuary!”

Highly recommend this spot. It's very quiet and not too far off the highway if you are traveling through. I texted my arrival time as I got close and Bill was waiting at the designated meeting spot to lead me to my site and get me settled. The communications back and forth were speedy and the eggs were wonderful. Highly recommend.

I enjoyed my stay at this site. I booked a parking pad since I was car camping and mostly wanted a site for a couple of days to rest. Since I was the only guest, the host was kind enough to allow me use of an RV site which had a picnic table and fire ring. They have trails on their land you can walk, very nice and well kept bathroom and showers, and it is an all around peaceful place to stay. I will definitely stay here again if I'm back in the area.

We had a great experience here! Bill and Robin were very thorough with giving directions on how to get to our site. Additionally, we arrived pretty late and they were understanding which we appreciated. The bathrooms were easily accessible and were probably the CLEANEST bathrooms I’ve used while camping. Overall the land was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend.
