My favorite place to stay
This was our second time visiting Jons WTW and it won't be our last. When you stay, you can expect the best hospitality around. Jon had our tent set up, and our fire was started when we arrived. Jon is so knowledgeable about the area and has great suggestions to add to the itinerary. He makes you feel right at home. The outhouse is so cute and the bocce ball court CANNOT be beat! I can't wait to come back as soon as I can.

Jon was an amazing host! He greeted us with ice cold water and set up our campfire for us. He could not be a more gracious host! He told us about the best hikes in the area. We asked if he had any information about Paloma Winery since we couldn’t find much online. He reached out to the owners of Paloma Winery and asked them to host us for a private wine tasting! It’s easy to see how much he loves this land and lifestyle.

This was our second time staying at The Hilltop at Jon's Wine Trail Wilderness, and we would do so over and over again. Even though we did a late booking the day before, Jon was able to accommodate our group of 6, with great communication and a beautiful, clean site, providing exactly as the listing says. Thanks Jon!

Great spot to camp
The land we stayed on was very clean and easy to get to. I typically just stay in the back of my truck so it was nice that I could drive right up to our camp spot. Jon stopped by in the evening to see how things were going and is overall just a pleasant person to interact with. The firewood we bought from them was also nice and seasoned so we had no issue starting the fire to cook dinner. If you're in the area either for the hikes or the wine trail I would definitely recommend staying here since it was much quieter than the park campgrounds.

It was a great experience!!
The WTW HipCamp set up that Jon hosts is awesome! We had a grainzebo for 4 nights. Two excellent wineries are within walking distance.
While the “outhouse” was the only thing I had worried about ahead of time, it turned out to be a super creative, clean, and cool solution for a bathroom. Jon himself is a very gracious host! Highly recommend!!

Close and Far Away Enough
"Bless this man and his compost toilets!" may partner exclaimed as we pulled our squaredrop into camp.
Jon has been a joy to stay with. This is our second time for a quick 24 hour city getaway at his place with solitude, starry nights, and a handful of helpful amenities like firewood, potable water, and yes, the small compost toilet in a tent. Far enough away to feel like you're boon docking, but close enough to get killer BBQ at 17th St when you don't wanna break out the camp stove. Grab coffee and breakfast at Faye, and hike Little Grand Canyon when you wake up before sunrise for a stunning view.

Spacious with a Full moon
Jon was such a welcoming and accommodating host, and we loved our stay at Wine Trail Wilderness. Our site was beautiful and relaxing among the fall trees with a cozy fire at night to keep us warm while moon and star-gazing. We highly recommend Wine Trail Wilderness.

This is as a beautiful spot. Close to great hiking and wine trail The added touches show how much love has been put into making your camping experience- coolers of water, outhouse and dry seasoned firewood and fire pit ready to go. Can’t wait to return.

Starry Nights and Peaceful Sites
We love Jon's campsites! This was our fourth visit, and we've stayed at three different sites, none have been better than the others. Jon is such a joy to visit with, he is so personable and passionate about his land and what he wants it to become. I'm so glad he chose to share it with others! Jon provides all essentials and is always available if anything else is needed. We took our dogs this round and they enjoyed some off-leash run-around time. We also walked down to Hickory Ridge Vineyard, where Hip Campers get a 10% discount! There's so much to offer, between the wine trails and just amazing open skies at night, the stars are incredible and it's even dark enough to see the milky way. Can't wait to go back and check out another site!

A much needed getaway
Jon and Carla were fantastic hosts! They had everything ready for us when we got there (tent, fire, water, and wine). We truly enjoyed the atmosphere of this campground. Everything was well taken care of and well thought out. We hiked on a warm day and needed a shower. Jon accommodated us with an adorable outdoor shower from a watering can. The campsites are far enough away from each other that you have privacy, but close enough you could make friends with other campers if you'd like. The area where the campground is located is perfect as well. I can't recommend this enough!

Outdoors and Local Wineries!
Jon was a gracious host who provided everything I needed (drinking water, a clean toilet, flat level ground to pitch my tent, a fire pit and dry wood each day). Camping on the wine trail was amazing. Two wineries were within walking distance and several more within a 15 minute drive. Hickory Ridge Winery even gave a discount for Hipcampers. There are a few hiking trails (Little Grand Canyon, Cedar Lake Trail, Natural Bridge) in the area and nearby Cedar Lake, for paddle-boarding/kayaking. It was a perfect place to get away, enjoy the outdoors, and the local wine making specialties. Would definitely recommend.

Jon is an absolute gem of a dude 💎
Jon was easily the most accommodating of the three Hipcamp hosts we we grateful to stay with during our travels as August came to a close. He met us quite late in the evening and greeted us with exuberance despite the moon hanging high overhead.
He was quick to show us the amenities on site, which were definitely a step above our previous two stops. The trash / recycling bins, cooler filled with ice water, and firewood ready for enjoyment were all a wonderfully welcome addition to the experience!
As much as we would have liked, we weren't able to take advantage of some of the local sites Jon recommended thanks to a combination of rain and eagerness to finish the last leg of our drive home.
10/10, would recommend, and absolutely WOULD stay again should we find ourselves in the midst of another rendezvous somewhere down the line. Thanks Jon!!!

This was an amazing camping experience to say the least. Not only are Jon & Carla wonderful camp hosts who went above and beyond but they seemed to know everyone nearby and we had nothing but positive encounters! I recommend and we will definitely be back to enjoy the wine and the serenity!

What a beautiful area. Jon was so pleasant greeting us and had our camp area all set up. Arrived right as the winery next door was closing, 7pm. Will need to come back to catch more in the area. Our Aussie pup loved running in the foggy field early in the morning!

Jon met me on arrival and immediately I had a great vibe about Wine Trail Wilderness. After a long conversation about the area and what there is to do Jon escorted me to my site which was everything I wanted and more, he even had wood in the firepit that only required me to light it. A privy I wasn't expecting was at my site as well as a 5 gallon cooler of delicious well water. My site was secluded as advertised and I had all the privacy I was seeking. Easy to see why his Hipcamp is so highly rated. I'll be returning soon and would recommend Wine Trail Wilderness to anyone!!!
