Juniper Bell Tent Yurt
It was our one year wedding anniversary and we wanted something a little more than just a regular camping trip. This was perfect, gave us a little more comfort while still being affordable. You can tell the hosts are constantly thinking of ways to improve their different amenities. The two of us fit perfectly in the shade of the tent, but if there are more of you definitely bring some shade. The water spout was COLD which was perfect with the hot weather! Would definitely go back.

Great for families!
Five minutes on the way to the City of Rocks Reserve, this yurt is close to a few other camp sites and includes things like potable water, an old-fashioned outhouse, picnic table, and firepit. The hosts were welcoming and helpful!

Close to Everything
The campground was very close to City of Rocks and the restaurant in town, which was nice! Our site (2) was a little walk from the car, but there was a wheelbarrow to help. Toilets were good to have & kept clean and stocked. Would have been nice to have more of a view from the campsite, but overall it was nice & met our needs!

It was more remote than we realized but certainly worth the journey. The actual tent site for #2 was fairly far from the car so we checked to see if anyone else was expected and used tent site #1 instead.
It was so incredibly quiet except for the birds, grouse, cows, mules!!! The view from the outhouse was spectacular!
Thank you again.

Simple, clean, and comfortable. Spacious for 2 people. We enjoyed our stay. Would recommend bringing a small sunshade or pop up shelter to put over the picnic table as there's no cooking inside the tent.

Great tent camping in site #2! So close to both Castle Rocks and City of Rocks for exploring all day. The views are beautiful! Yes, even from the outhouse, which is clean and much better than most pit toilet experiences. We stayed for three nights and would definitely return again and recommend to friends and family. Close to road and house but felt very private, even with another family camped at the teepee site. The trees and shrubs provide lots of privacy. Waaaaaay better than a big campground. And having firewood so accessible was wonderful! We cooked almost everything over the fire like when I was a kid…mmm delish! Thank you Ross and Sherida, for sharing your lil slice of heaven!

Great place to camp when reservations were full for City of Rocks Reserve campsites! Probably even quieter/less road noise than many of the City sites. Thanks for a great stay!!

The site was super cute and private. Super close to city of rocks so it was perfect to go the next morning. The host was super accommodating. Loved walking around on the dirt roads and seeing the cows in surrounding fields. So nice and quaint.

This campsite was lovely! Very hard to find in the dark though. The hosts were responsive and even checked in on us despite us arriving late at night!

Clean and Close to City of Rocks!
We enjoyed our stay here! We have previously stayed at the yurt onsite, but it was booked this weekend, so we brought our own tent. The campsite was set back from parking and the road and felt private. The outhouse is immaculate.
The location is also great for City of Rocks if you can't get a campsite in the reserve itself. Looking forward to staying here again in the future!

I stayed for two nights in early September and had a wonderful experience. The campsite and tent were just as described and very clean. The site was within trees and sagebrush and not an open field like so many other campsites. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting City of Rocks.

Convenient location and comfortable
We liked the location and setting. We stayed in the "Tent" and it was roomy enough for our family of 6 to all sleep comfortably. Good amenities provided, porta-poties and garbage cans were conveniently located. They had water across the street at the Host's property, which was fine to use as needed, they were gracious to offer us access whenever we needed.

Great City of Rocks Destination
This is a great site. It is just outside of City of Rocks, as close as you can get. Well marked areas with great directions. The pit toilets were very clean and had a trash bin by them. The owner stopped by our first night to check in on us.

sweet stay
Super comfortable! Hosts were great with communication and met me with lots of helpful local info for visiting the park and town's fun. Also -- the nicest smelling compost toilet I've ever experienced in the camping scene! Weird to highlight but bravo!!!

Best amazing geological glamping
This place is a MUST see. Ross & Sheila were incredibly accommodating and the glamming experiment was delightful. They provided chairs and even two cots and a solar light! It was dreamy and I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. The night hawks were amazing too!!

Delightful
We really enjoyed it . . . but (since we arrived quite late, well after dark) it would have been helpful to have had some small reflectors on the road where we were supposed to turn into the parking area, and even more helpful to have small reflectors along the paths to the different campsites (red for site 1, blue for site 2, 3 for the tepee, white for the bathroom, etc -- and a sign at the parking area identifying which color reflectors goes to which place).
I would love to write more, but I'm at a summer camp with heavy responsibilities, and won't have an opportunity to even give it much more thought until after I get home on the 26th.
