Welcome to your own, private campsite in the heart of Weeki Wachee surrounded by the wildlife management area, various state parks and fresh water springs! Our well-maintained campsite is a big, open area with full sun, surrounded by trees which give you plenty of shade if preferred. It is quiet and dark enough for you to hear the wildlife at night! The primitive backyard campsite rural, secluded and easy accessible, the spot is 20 feet wide so you’ll have enough space for your motorhome to pull in. We, the owners, will be your neighbors (on the same property) so we can assist you with your needs. Right now what we have available is a 20 amp extension cord and a water hose. You can also run your generator. THINGS TO DO The wildlife management area is a one minute walk from the campsite with the buford and eagle nest springs inside. There is also a distillery (NJoy Spirit) on site. Seven Sisters springs are a ten minute car ride away. You can rent a kayak or a canoe to go out and see dolphins, turtles, alligators, manatees, snakes, deer, various birds or even bears. Other springs in the area are Hunters Springs, Rogers Park and Three Sisters springs. Crystal River is a charming, historical town 25 minutes north. You’ll pass Homosassa and their State Park (the oldest Hippo Lu (65) lives here). At the waterfront restaurant ‘Crumps’ you can watch monkeys on an island! Dames Cave in Lecanto is about 17 minutes from here with multiple caves to explore. The famous Weeki Wachee Springs State park is a 15 minute drive south highway 19. Howard’s Flea Market is the largest in Citrus County, 10 minutes north from the camp site. ‚Adventure Flg X’ is a fun Zip Line park in Brooksville. Rainbow River Springs is an hour north from Twin Pines. The park has beautiful scenic trails and a water temperature of 72 degrees year round which invites you to explore the river in a tube or kayak. The Weeki Wachee preserve is another beautiful, close spot worth visiting. Disney World, Legoland and Universal Studios are within two hours. St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Tampa and Tarpon Springs are must-see cities! Beaches: Pine Island, Fort Island, Sunwest Park Beach. Further away: Madeira Beach, Honeymoon Island & Fort DeSoto. Make sure the beaches are open!

It says that I have bathrooms and it doesn’t…. Is our backyard. It’s not a place accommodated to camp.! I hope they enjoy the money. They didn’t even respond that I kindly said please you can at least give the half it doesn’t have to be even everything

A better marking of the entrance to the camping area should be provided. We arrived at night and were not able to camp because the entrance was not marked or lights provided to mark entrance. Also the liability waiver required by the hist should be noted in the listing. I was not comfortable with that.

We didn't stay here. What she advertised is completely wrong it is camping in her back yard all sites where close to one another no privacy. Has a strict no refund policy for a reason I see why now. Save your money you can do this kind of camping in your yard for free

We had such a blast camping here. It’s a great location and very beautiful! The Chaz and Weeki Wachee rivers are close. There are many things to do in the area. The in-ground trampoline was a perfect spot to relax. And on a side note I felt very safe and comfortable which is always a plus when camping ❤️ Thank you, Melissa.

My experience was great very peaceful and private, the host Melissa was very helpful .they provided water and a power source which was much needed. She responded very quickly and is very accommodating. I will definitely be back.

Melissa was such a friendly host. The trampoline was such a cool touch, I'm even more so if you have kiddos. and I was even able to get an Instacart delivery 🤣🤙

The host seems like a nice lady, however as for camping you may as well just stay in your own back yard. When I pulled up I was immediately disappointed that the camp site was literally the hosts yard. The pictures are incredibly misleading. Most of the pictures on the booking page are photos of nearby springs and attractions, NOT the campsite you’re booking. I can appreciate how maybe a family with small children might see the value in this kind of camping, But don’t be mislead; It’s someone’s backyard not a legitimate camping experience if that’s what your looking for. There are many more beautiful places to camp.

This was our first time using a hip camp site! It was a last minute booking and e we knew we would arrive very late in the evening due to traveling and exploring. Melissa was very responsive to messages and questions we had. The directions were clear and easy. It was a bit of a challenge to see where each site was in order to set up but that’s mostly because we didn’t want to disturb the two other campers already there sleeping. We would definitely stay again if in the area and would recommend!

Twin Pines was a great place to camp! My two children loved the trampoline. We saw about thirty wild turkey on the way in. Host was very accommodating, and it was just a short drive from Weeki Wachee and Chassahowitzka!

The host Melissa responded quickly and was awesome! Melissa's location is great for exploring the Old Florida Homosassa area! The 2 area's for Hipcamp is a cement area which is right off the road, if your looking for a secluded area,this is not it, however I was looking for a safe area with no bells and whistle's. I had a situation that required Melissa attention and she had a great remedy for me, I very much appreciated Melissa and her Hipcamp site, also I highly recommend her Hipcamp site! I like Hipcamp due to each trip is different and will acquire different accommodations! Thank you Melissa!!!

The host was easy to work with and the area was very flat. We didn't mind that the water source was a hose connected to the house as it was still potable, but it was very close to the house and there were not clear signs where we were to set up camp in the dark. We were most disappointed to learn that the toilet was merely a bucket with a trash bag, with a pop up tent, and toilet paper was not provided. The toilet wasn't available until the next morning, and truthfully we never used it and frequented Circle-K because of the awkwardness. We are perfectly fine using pit-toilets and portable outhouses at a campsite, but this campsite wasn't that. The reviews paint it as a beautiful private campsite, but it feels very much like you are staying at a friend's house because you are down on your luck and it does not have a camping feel. The host was quiet and the propinquity to the natural attractions is spectactular. If you are looking for a quiet flat place to sleep, it works, but this is not a place where you will want to spend time at the campsite and feel secluded and private.

I’ve always been told that if you have nothing nice to say then don’t say anything at all . I will say to anyone that you should save your money and camp elsewhere

My fiance and I had a very relaxing and calm trip perfect for a little get away. Shops all over the place and lots to explore. Highly recommend popping over and enjoying the outdoors

Melissa’s property was so spacious and such a great place to camp especially being able to bring our dog. We set up our tents and had a fire around camp to cook meals which was so nice. My only complaint is that the land itself was not super flat for tent camping but if you’re in a RV or van, it would be perfect. We were too far away for wifi to work, but the host responded super quickly to my message when I asked about it. I would definitely stay here again!

We had a great time here. My sons jumped on the trampoline, we see up wherever it was best for us since the were no other campers at that time. Melissa was very flexible and we ended up staying more nights than we planned. It's very close to the Chassahowitzka River and the Homossassa wildlife management area which we were primarily exploring. We had a fire and found plenty of wood to burn. It was much more remote than other hip camps in the area and we could barely hear cars in the far distance. It was a very nice place to get away from the development of the area.

It was very easy to stay at this site- directions were easy and we were able to pick the site that was best for us since there were no other campers. Our sons loves jumping on the trampoline and we easily found firewood to have a fire. Melissa quickly responded to any questions I had. It was very quiet and far away from town, unlike other hip camp sites in the area. We wanted something close to the homossassa wildlife management area and this was just down the road. We had a great time and ended up staying and extra night.

Melissa is very easy to communicate with. Although our camping trip got cut really short and we didn't get to fully experience it we definitely plan on booking again. Loved the area and can't wait to come back.

We had a great experience at Melissa's! It was a clean campsite with access to a campfire and space to roam. The roosters woke us up nice and early to get our days started. We loved the experience!

We were super happy with the location, privacy and facilities. It was a very secluded lot with water and a fire pit. Next to wild lands. Our hosts recommendations made or trip delightful. Will be back for sure.

Very nice hosts with a beautiful piece of property. Great campfire area and a trampoline our kids loved. We set up away from the home and really enjoyed our stay.
