Robert was a good host. He provided 30 amp power and water as promised along with a nice tour of the tree farm. There are several dogs but we enjoyed them, even the occasional howling gave us a chuckle.
One point to note is that you are camping in Robert’s front yard not out in a spacious meadow as I imagined.
There were other campers as well who were all very easy going and we enjoyed our time there.

Frank was a good and attentive host. His rescue dogs were very sweet. We got them treats and everyone was happy.

We enjoyed staying on this starfruit farm -it’s much more our style to support a local farmer than stay in a larger RV park. We would have appreciated a little more clear communication about where we should park and where the hookups were located. Still, I would stay there again. Note that there is only electric and water, not sewer hookups here.

We had a great time checking out all the exotic fruits with the awesome host. I loved the natural feeling of being in the middle of a fruit orchard but also having modern amenities close by. As others have said, there are dogs on the property, but I love dogs so it was not a problem at all for me.

Farmer Bob was great. We didn't see him until our last day but he invited us to take a tour of his farm and we picked starfruit, longin fruit and passion fruit right off the trees. They were delicious! 3 very friendly and well behaved dogs were around to keep us company.

Two of us camped on Robert’s beautiful farmland on a whim one night. It was easy to locate and get set up when we arrived. Perfect location for the Everglades and Biscayne! We loved hanging out with his sweet dogs that roam the land. Thank you, Robert!

We enjoyed our quick overnight stay at Fresh Gardens. We had the place to ourselves and took great advantage of the available electric to recharge all our batteries. All the dogs were friendly and kept vigilant watch on the grounds giving us a great night's sleep. Thanks, Bob!

Everglades and Biscayne NP camping
For those of you who are national park lovers, Everglades NP main entrance and Biscayne NP are close by. Bob the Farmer is a gracious kind host who gave us a shady place to park our van nestled amongst star fruit trees. He supplied us with a fresh water hose and a 20 amp hook up (he is wired for larger RV's). Our first night, I received an emergency call asking me to fill in for another yoga teacher online. He helped me to find a spot in the yard where I could teach remotely with a large bougainvillea bush in the background.
Our first morning he gave my son and I an hour tour of his 5 acre farm. We looked at all the interesting fruits he grows and learned about the fascinating agricultural history of south florida farming. Wonderful if you have kids! Since he has a special needs family member, he sometimes has to travel so call ahead to see if he is available.
There seems to be a state "bird" in south Florida, wandering chickens and roosters that we saw everywhere including in the area around Bob's Farm. Bob does raise chickens and other birds. He also has 4 dogs that we enjoyed. So there can be noise at random times. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs and you will be fine.
Please follow his directions as google is incorrect. Bob works very hard at maintaining a 5 acre farm and is very responsive if you let him know your needs. "Robert is here" fruit stand is close by and we enjoyed getting smoothies there too.

This was a unique experience in an area of Miami we never even knew existed!!! Bob gave us the grand tour, which the kids (and us) found super interesting!!! He was kind, accommodating, and gave us our privacy.

Okay for an overnight
Fresh gardens is close to the Everglades and 1 hour to Key Largo. Sites are close together and in the owners front yard. We were the third hip camper and the 50 amp and 30 amp were taken. We only had a regular 15 amp. Plug. Which means no air in South Florida. Ugh. Thankfully our neighbors were great and the 2nd night used their generator so we could have air. The dogs were sweet. Not exactly as advertised but good for an overnight stay

Private Yet Centrally Located
This is a great place to say if you are visiting the national parks or Homestead for any reason. I stayed for 10 days in my 17ft travel trailer and had access to electricity and water. The location is secluded and private but still within 10-15 minutes of restaurants, shops and grocery stores. If you take exit 2 you will not have to deal with the bumpy road. I would definitely stay here again!

Not marked well and you have to get on terrible dirt road from either direction. Did serious damage to my rig getting there. Very difficult to figure out hookup and where to park. Host was not there and was kind of arrogant when I called him.

We enjoyed our stay at Robert’s Fresh Garden’s tropical produce and fruit Farm. It was a perfect spot to park our camper while we ventured out to the keys. Electricity, and water were easy to find. Robert included an educational farm tour. We appreciated his kind hospitality, and work as a farmer.
We’d love to check it out during fruiting season!

Very clear directions, we pulled in VERY late without any issue. The option to run the generator was our selling point. Great place to park for the night.

Bob was awesome I loved the place. A bit rural but in a really nice area Electric was available and water was if you needed it I loved the dogs. They just showed up at Bob’s property and he took care of them. one has three legs, one is skittish and one is sweetest girl I’ve met I almost stole her :). Make sure to take the tour and I would definitely definitely come here again. Bob grows lychee, flowers, starfruit, palm and plants that help fight cancer. A really good guy. He has roosters and dogs and it’s on a farm land so expect some noise.

Small farm conveniently located
We enjoyed camping on this small farm for 3 nights. Carmen gave us a tour of the farm and helped us pick some delicious star fruit right from the trees. They had great electric and water hookups. We visited Robert is Here, the Everglades National Park, and John Pennecamp Coral Park, which were all within a short drive. They had 3 friendly dogs that greeted us when we arrived. Make sure to follow Robert’s directions, not Google maps, because the back road was really rough. It was a pleasant stay. I will return whenever we are in the area.

Semi private camping in an orchard
We had a nice spot by the trees. Felt private enough. Other campers there were very nice. The roosters were very loud in the morning. They woke my light sleeping boyfriend up at about 5 am, but I sleep hard and was able to sleep through it. So if you wake up easy, take that into consideration. All in all it was a nice stay and I’d definitely stay here again.

Great camp spot on starfruit farm!
Great location for the Keys & Everglades. What a cool experience! We have a 25 ft class C & fit fine. Electric & water hook ups were great. Bob & his wife Carmen were very friendly & welcoming. We were able to get a few starfruit from the trees which was very memorable! Bought a dozen fresh eggs too. Would highly recommend & we loved the rescue pooches that were always down for some cuddles.

camping and eating fresh fruit
I loved it here. The owner was super nice and the other people staying here were great to. Me and my 8 yr old stayed here and ate fresh star fruit off of the trees. We also cracked open some coconuts. 10 out of 10!

Unique, Inviting Stay!
We had a lovely time on Bob’s property! We were able to get our 32’ Class C MotorHome in and out no problem and met some lovely people during our week long stay. We (especially our 5 year old son!) enjoyed the sweet doggies company as well! Only downsides…The dogs barking and the roosters crowing (morning AND night) were a bit annoying. A unique place to stay if you’re in the area. Definitely recommend!
