Glamping at the foot of Malvern Hills, surrounded by trees, fishing lakes and wildlife
Sometimes campers want accommodation that matches the natural beauty of their surroundings. While the DIY feel of pitching your own tent and creating your own spot in the great outdoors is unrivalled, it's certainly not for everyone, and even seasoned campers need to take a break every now and then for a truly restful getaway. Enter Bluebell Retreat Glamping, which provides three wooden pods and a shepherd's hut with a rustic aesthetic that perfectly complement the woodland they're nestled within. For those who want the idyllic views and the sprawling walks without the unwashed hair and rough sleeping, these four glamping hideaways provide the ideal mixture of seclusion and comfort.
Bluebell Retreat is situated within a small woodland at the foot of the iconic Malvern Hills, overlooking a pond and the surrounding commons. The quaint pods feature a double bed situated in front of a windowed doorway that opens out onto the meadow while the shepherd's hut is set back among the trees. Open your curtains in the morning and be immediately greeted by the Worcestershire woodland. The pods and hut each have decking which allows for relaxed bistro dining, where you can enjoy your morning coffee situated among the local wildlife, including adorable muntjac and pheasants.
If visiting in a group of eight, you will have the site all to yourselves, with you able to enjoy your surroundings exclusively with your small group. While ideal for a couples' retreat (no kids under the age of 14 are allowed), it's also something of an angling hotspot. The six Leigh Sinton Coarse Fishing Lakes that encircle the site let you cast your hook for a small fee. Clean off from a day of reeling in some big catches in the modern and stylish washroom, tucked away behind some trees in a minute's walk from the site, with the heated shower and flushing toilet in its plush interior being a far cry from the typical portaloos and compost toilets you typically find in a campsite.
But while Bluebell Retreat may feel so embedded within the Malvern countryside that it could be in the middle of nowhere, there's plenty to see and do nearby. Take a trip to the Malvern Hills, a three-mile walk from the site, and embark on the End to End linear walk that encompasses all of its summits. Visit the Malvern Theatre in the titular spa town for a spot of arts and culture, or visit the Grade I-listed Great Malvern Priory to learn of its history. Or, failing all of that, take a 20-minute walk and sink a few in the local Royal Oak pub, before tucking into a wood-fired pizza from the outdoor The Old Dough Hook van.

I had a delightful stay here, the pods and communal areas were clean and modern. Ian and Deb were incredibly helpful and welcoming. This is a beautiful and restful location, I enjoyed spending time among the trees and enjoyed walking around the pond.
There were lots of little touches, the mini fridge in the room is silent, the bbq next to the pod with a box of everything you need to use for the BBQ. A firepit adds a certain something especially at night, if you forgot to buy charcoal for your BBQ you can buy some from the owners.
I would recommend this to my friends, and hope to stay again.

From the host
We are nestled away in a secluded private location at the foot of the stunning Malvern Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The site is set within grounds of approximately 4 acres with a variety of resident wildlife including Muntjacs, Pheasants, Birds of Prey, Frogs and beautiful Dragonflies.
The nearest village is Leigh Sinton, a short walk away if you fancy a few supplies from the shop or a lunchtime snack at the local pub. Next door are 6 beautiful Carp fishing pools with views over the Malvern Hills, along with a nature reserve and many public right of way walks. For the more energetic a walk into Great Malvern is possible (3.3 miles /1 hour) or a short taxi ride away.
The owners Deb and Ian welcome you to Bluebell Retreat Glamping and its facilities and make themselves available to ensure you have a fantastic stay-cation.
Malvern Hills is just over three miles away from the site, with plenty of walks available in one of the most beloved countryside spots in England. The sprawling hills are accommodating for all age types and both new and experienced ramblers alike, with visitors either able to embark on a quiet stroll along its floral meadows, or engage in a blood-pumping hike along its ridge. For a day out seeing all that the hills have to offer, set out on the 'End to End' linear walk that stretches from Chase End at the south to North Hill, letting you view all of the hills' summits. Malvern Theatres (01684 892277) is a 15-minute drive away, with this famous theatre, film, and music venue letting you enjoy one of its many new shows or the latest movies. You can also explorer the wider Great Malvern surrounding it, the historic spa town that's a designated conservation area with its unique architecture and historic relevance. Embrace the latter with a visit to the Great Malvern Priory (01684 561020), formerly a Benedictine monastery and now an Anglican parish church. The Three Counties Showground (0344 338 5400) is a 20-minute drive from the site, offering shows throughout the year such as the Malvern Autumn Show, a festival of gardening, food, drink, and artisan produce. Be sure to check out what's on and book your tickets accordingly. For another unique venture, check out the Morgan Motor Company (01684 573104) where you can take a look at a variety of British sports cars, take a tour around the factory, or indulge in test days of some magnificent motor vehicles.
Food and drink
The Royal Oak Inn (01886 832787) is the closest pub to site, a 20-minute walk away. On Fridays, The Old Dough Hook (07969 460863) pizza van parks up in front of the pub, providing wood-fired pizza. The Fold (01886 833112) is an organic farm and "artisan village", a five-minute drive from the site, with a cafe, independent shops, an organic farm shop, and nature trails. Be mindful that it's closed every Sunday and Monday.
