Babylon Woods is made up of 90 acres of unspoilt countryside, most of which is ancient woodlands. Our glamping site is located in a 19 Acre field which is exclusively yours, not another soul (certainly no other campers) will disturb you apart from the odd rabbit or dear! The south coast is only 10 mins away with all kinds of water activities and hikes to enjoy. On site you have plenty of woodland walks to explore and if you are a fan of English Wine, we are slap bang in the middle of wine country with numerous vineyards to explore locally.Bring your friends and / or family along to Babylon Woods and have 90 Acres to yourselves! You will not be disturbed by other campers as it’s only you and your group on site within our three bell tents (2 persons per tent). Park up and meander down the woodland path to find your camp site and our 19 acre field with views all the way to Rye. Settle into your kings sized bed, one in each of the three bell tents, and enjoy the silence. Light a fire in the central open fire pit and put your feet up. We will supply ample fire wood for your stay so no need to worry about the fire going out. Cook over the open flames or if you prefer we have a two ring gas stove at your disposal. Running water on site and an ample supple of drinking water will be provided. A short walk away you will find our toilet block which has 4 flushing loos and a magical outdoor tree shower (yes it really is quite the place to wash away the day!) Private, yet allowing you to be immersed within the surrounding beauty. The area was once part of a large private estate which has long since been broken up. The history of the area though remains fascinating. One thing of great prominence is the fact the largest ironworks of the Roman Empire was once on this very site and we still find large lumps of iron slag to this day! A short walk away you will find one of the best preserved Roman bath houses in the country, so history buffs are well caters for! If history isn’t your thing, within walking distance you have golf courses and a riding stables. Not to mention a short drive away you will find Hastings, Rye, Battle and Eastbourne. We are lucky enough to have some fantastic restaurants near by as well which we are happy to supply recommendations for.

A Truly Magical Camping Experience

I can’t recommend this camping site enough. Nestled within 90 acres of serene, open land, it offers a truly secluded escape from the noise and chaos of everyday life. The setting is stunning – peaceful, untouched, and expansive – with total freedom to roam and unwind. Georgina and Max are exceptional hosts. They’ve thought of absolutely everything, and their attention to detail shows in every corner of the site. From the moment we arrived, everything was smooth and clearly explained. They’ve created that perfect sweet spot between traditional camping and glamping – you get the authentic outdoorsy experience without compromising on convenience or comfort. From essentials to thoughtful extras, everything you could possibly need has been provided. It’s clear they’ve poured a lot of love and effort into making this a truly special place. There were zero issues – no noise, no disturbances – just nature, calm, and comfort. I’ll absolutely be coming back, and I recommend this place wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a proper, well-balanced camping getaway.

woodland privacy & comfy beds!

Group Glamping for 6 in AONB

This is an absolute beautiful completely private spot. The tents are really cosy and beds comfortable. The woods have loads of trails to explore. We cooked on the fire pit and the kids loved it. Outdoor kitchen well equipped. We went with 2 adults, 3 children - so much space! And very near the coast. There's tons of lamps and lights but remember to pack power banks for phones (if only to use Google maps). Really lovely place. Hosts helpful and welcome - thank you for the jump start on the last day!

Beautiful and private gampling site, our weekend was perfect! Toilets are the best we found for a private camping, shower has hot water. The tents and beds were very clean. Green and well cured location. I would provide more wood for guests to use.

We had a fantastic time at Babylon Woods. There were five of us, and we came for a weekend gathering to celebrate a friend who travelled all the way from Hong Kong. She loves camping, so we chose this site especially for her. It was a unique experience for all of us. Georgie and Max were incredibly friendly and quick to respond whenever we had questions or needed help. The site is lovely and has everything you could need! Highly recommended, especially for first-time campers.
