Matt met us on arrival and helped carry our bags to the The Shepherds Hut which is well fitted out , nicely decorated , lovely and clean, and well equipped. Nice hot shower and towel rail. Electric fire and also a log burner should you need it for the cold weather,The bed was so so comfy and the oat biscuits and eggs were delicious !!
All windows had lovely views.

We loved our stay at the hut - it was perfect! Being surrounded by the beautiful scenery at the back of the farm and waking up to the incredibly friendly sheep and horses was so nice. The hut itself is really cozy, lovingly decorated and has everything you need in it. We would love come and stay again!

We had such a wonderful stay in the shepherd’s hut! Mandy greeted us when we arrived and kindly showed us to our hut, which was tucked away in a very private and peaceful spot.
The hut itself was spotless, cosy, and welcoming. We were pleasantly surprised to find oat flip biscuits waiting for us, along with coffee pods and milk — such a thoughtful touch. At night, the skies were incredible, and we loved sitting outside stargazing in complete tranquillity.
One of the highlights was meeting Timmy and Otto, the resident sheep. Timmy in particular is such a character — he loves a scratch under the chin and made us smile every day.
Throughout our stay we didn’t have a single disturbance — it was just pure peace and relaxation.
I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, charming getaway with a touch of nature and plenty of comfort. We can’t wait to come back!

A superb find! We were totally delighted with every aspect of our stay at Matt and Mandy's exquisitely located shepherd's hut.

Thank you so much to Matt and his family for a wonderful stay. The cabin was clean and we loved the little touch of the welcome gifts. We were so pleasantly surprised by the space around the cabin and the privacy we had. It was such a great space for children to run around in. It is so special that there is only one cabin as so many farms have numerous, we loved the private feel. Our only comment is that as a group of 4 adults and 1 child, we felt it was about as packed as we would like it. The bunk beds are very small for adults but we made it work.
Fabulous that there was an air fryer available. Could do with some more outdoor cooking equipment like tongs, grills and oven gloves. But we all had a great stay and would love to visit you again in the near future.

My family stayed at Hazelbank farm for a weekend. My children loved walking around the farm and exploring the wooded areas. They loved feeding the sheep and playing in the tree house. It's a lovley location very quiet and peaceful. Matt helped show us how to light the fire we really enjoyed having the fire in the evening.

Had such a lovely weekend staying at the Shepard's Hut. Everything we needed for cooking and eating at the hut, an amazing hot shower, and beautiful views from the bedroom windows. Matt and his wife were super friendly and helpful. We will definitely be coming back!!

Gorgeous shepherds hut in a beautiful location! Everything was perfect. The hut was immaculate, super cozy and really comfortable and they provided everything you could need, plus some really special touches like the eggs and biscuits. I cannot praise it enough. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back.

Property and farm was lovely; position and nearby villages were great. Felt both very welcome and like we had all the privacy in the world. Highly recommend if you wish to get away from London for a couple days.

We had a fantastic time in the shepherd's hut on Hazelbank farm. It was a beautiful location on the farm with views of the surrounding South Downs. There is easy access to public footpaths where we encountered fab views and a plethora of wildlife. The hut was exceptionally clean and well maintained, and gave us the ability to access all the fun of staying in the great outdoors whilst still having the comforts of home. The little extras provided by the host, such as eggs from the farm were a great touch. Overall, great value for money and a very relaxing weekend. Thank you

One of the best glamping experiences we've ever had! We appreciated all of the little touches - from a warm hut to arrive to late on Friday, to the milk and eggs which were delicious. Matt was very quick to respond and it felt like nothing was too much trouble. An idyllic and private spot to get away. Great stargazing too! We are already thinking about when we can come back. Also thanks for the extra effort with my husband's birthday, the sign was such a lovely touch.

What a beautiful and peaceful place. The hut is absolutely stunning and so well set up! If you are looking for confort and nature this is the place to go. I have done glamping before but that was another level! I was not expecting to have this much luxury, the list goes on from the hot high pressure shower in the ensuite equipped with towel heater, the electric heater in the main living area as well as the log burner for cosynight, the fully kitted kitchen with welcome farm eggs and fresh milk, the quircky fact books (loved them especially the how much do you know? one) , card set, roberts radio, tassimo coffee machine and even smart Tv, without forgetting the very confortable bed! You have honestly the best of both world with a wild surroundings, clear stargazing night, gorgeous and friendly sheeps timmy, Otto and Willow the lamb that i should add have all been lovingly rescued and given the best outcome of life they could get. The host are great and gave us privacy, they showed us around and left us to it but are instantly present if you need anything x we will definitely be booking again soon thanks again to Matt and his family ...you made a 50th birthday weekend very special indeed x

We loved the shepherds hut situated on Matt’s land. It was peaceful and very private place to stay with lovely interiors inside of the hut. We had neighbouring sheep who were very friendly and greeted us every morning.
On our arrival Matt was welcoming and showed us around and told us everything that we needed to know, as well as a welcome pack situated inside of the hut with any additional information.
There are lovely walks around the farm, whether you want a long walk or short there’s plenty to choose from as well as a pub and local farm shop to visit too.

We absolutely loved our stay at Matt's shepherd's hut.
The interior is finished to a very high standard and felt like a mini hotel with a great little kitchen. We appreciated all the attention to detail: sweet peas planted outside, comfy recliners by the BBQ with a grill for cooking, a large hammock perfect for afternoon naps in the shade, fairy lights on the ceiling and outside, bathroom toiletries and bathrobes and lots more!
The views from the hut are brilliant. You wake up in the morning and the view from the window is lush green fields with oak trees, sheep and horses.
The area available to us was very private / secluded - although you can be friends with the sheep in the next door field :)
Communication with Matt was excellent. Very responsive before and during our visit.

We really loved our stay of four nights in Matt's cosy Shepherds Hut, it was perfect for a couple. The double bed was comfortable, the kitchenette had enough equipment to cook breakfasts and simple meals. There was a firepit area outside for cooking outside in good weather, and some comfortable seating. The Shepherds Hut even had its own shower, washbasin and toilet. The views across the farm and forests were really lovely, and not far away from walks and trails in the South Downs. Two of the sheep were real characters and would come running over to greet us! Plenty of places to visit a short drive away. We went to see the treasures of Petworth House on a rainy day, and the exceptional wildfowl of Petersfield Heath and Pond before we left to go home. We would recommend a short break here for any couple wanting a peaceful place to stay.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in The Hut at Hazelbank Farm. It’s located in an idyllic spot, overlooking lush green landscapes and farm animals, who are very friendly! The Hut gets the best of both worlds with morning and evening sun, it’s a very peaceful and tranquil place to relax.
There are loads of footpaths to explore in the area which would be perfect for a walking getaway, the surrounding countryside is beautiful. Dark skies at night provided plenty of stars, and I even caught a small glimpse of the aurora!
Matt has done an excellent job at creating a wonderful and luxurious space, everything is top notch and the attention to detail is fab. A very welcoming and friendly guy who is a brilliant host. I can’t fault my stay one bit, thanks for having me!
I would highly encourage anyone to visit Hazelbank Farm, you won’t regret it.

It was absolutely beautiful i most definitely would recommend. Everything you’d need is in the hut, microwave kettle etc. It has a beautiful surrounding and lots of things to do. the sheep are lovely and add a nice touch. we had the best time!

The hut on Hazelbank Farm is a fantastic place to escape and enjoy the South Downs. The place itself is very well equipped and the setting is very quiet. Matt is very helpful if you should need anything. Would highly recommend.

The farm animals are lovely and add a serene ambience to the hut view. Absolute joy to wake up here. Very restful and rejuvenating. Very helpful hosts 👍🏼

We had a magical stay at Matt's shepherd hut - pictures don't do this place justice. The hut was very spacious and furnished to a high spec, very well equipped with all you need and more for a few days away - fridge/freezer, microwave, cooking hob, good shower, cutlery/utensils, coffee machine, delicious hot choc and biscuits! Bed was v comfy and twinkling fairy lights were a nice touch.
The small farm is an animal lovers paradise. On one side we were close to a small pen with some adorable lambs, and on the other side some horses trotting around. Behind the hut a small woodland where we could listen to the birds chirping in the mornings and evenings. To the front, a great view of the rolling hills and woodlands. Behind the hut there is a small garden area enclosed by a traditional fence with a breakfast table and some comfy chairs to relax by the firepit on a warm summers evening. There's a wood burning stove in the hut but it's well insulated and we didn't need it with the warm August weather. Matt was lovely and friendly and left you in absolute privacy unless you wanted a chat. The surrounding area is filled with public footpaths and beautiful nature. Matt recommended us a 6 mile route but we ended up doing 10 miles through sheep meadows, enchanted woodlands, scenic villages, a lake and a waterfall, and a Buddhist temple (totally didn't expect that in the South Downs). We felt like we were in a fairy tale for 3 days. Run out of characters but in short, you must stay!!
