Immerse yourself in nature away from the crowds in our unique, rustic and cosy cabin set in a secluded copse amongst nature. The ideal place to tour Cornwall, or simply shut yourself away to escape and recharge your batteries. Sit, relax and watch dragonflies dance over the pond, listen to the birds, bees and butterflies breathing in the fresh moorland air. We have a beautiful wild flower meadow, woodland paths and an area outside the shack with seating and pond. We would love to, but cannot accept dogs due to the wildlife pond in front of the shack and free ranging chickens. If you would like to bring other pets or very small dogs who don’t like water just please ask. We are be happy to accommodate parents with babies or toddlers, if requested in advance so we can put safety features in place. Older children are welcome, but to ensure they get the most out of their stay please request before booking as there is no facility for extra beds. Please note, the shack is chilly in Winter without the wood burner lit. If you don’t feel confident using the wood burner which makes it super toasty, then please reconsider your stay. There is a modern electric fire and bathroom towel rail/radiator. Heated blankets on the bed, rugs and throws are provided. We have installed WiFi and you can receive good phone signal and 4G on most networks. It is a short walk (150m?) to ‘off the beaten shack’, it is sometimes wet and muddy underfoot, but a wood chip pathway leads to the shack. It would not suit those with limited mobility. Local produce and Food Hampers are available but best be ordered minimum 48hrs in advance. Good quality Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and sugar provided. Large basket of logs and kindling is supplied (extra available to buy). Organic Eggs from our free ranging chickens available to buy.Our ‘rustic shack’ is well equipped and cosy with a retro/Boho/Bedouin decor. There are fun touches, a big comfy sofa, quirky poster bed with plump pillows and electric blanket on a Kingsize Hypnos mattress. The kitchen is equipped with double electric hob, air fry oven, fridge freezer, filtered water tap, slow cooker, kettle, toaster and good range of utensils and crockery. The Log burner is supplied with basket of logs, there’s an Electric fire and a tower fan too. You can relax in the three seater Sofa, watch on a Smart TV, there’s a DVD player and stereo. A range of Books, DVDs and Games. The generous sized bathroom has a heated towel rail, Mira shower, sink and toilet. Outdoor fire pit & grill beside our wildlife pond. Picnic table and comfy loungers. Don’t judge a book by its cover as most of our previous guests say… ‘shack is not really doing it justice’.

Off the Beaten Shack - Cornwall

Cozy Cabin

Our stay exceeded all expectations, the cabin was beautifully decorated and had everything you would need for a cozy night in. The well-equipped kitchen has a double electric hob, air fry oven, fridge freezer, filtered water tap, kettle, toaster, and an array of utensils and crockery, we loved cooking in there. We had the log burner on, supplied with a basket of logs, while playing an assortment of the games they had to pick from. The bathroom was spacious, the heated towel rail was a favorite. The outdoor area was equally enchanting, with an inviting fire pit and grill next to a wildlife pond. Comfortable loungers provided the perfect spot for outdoor dining. Overall the 'rustic shack' is a hidden gem that defies its name. It's a quirky retreat filled with character and all the comforts one could wish for. Our stay here was nothing short of magical, and we wholeheartedly agree with previous guests: the 'shack' truly does not do it justice.
