Beautiful setting. Really friendly host. Absolutely loved the extra touches like being able to use a fridge-freezer and the snack and honesty box (I hope my girls put enough money in!) such a shame we had to leave early but the weather was just too awful but we will definitely be back another time.

The best campsite I've been to! They've managed to retain so much nature and in essence of being in the wild. Facilities are excellent and lots of thoughtful touches such as paving slabs that you can help yourself too to put underneath campfires, as well as a coffee machine and a microwave. The showers and toilets are clean and thoughtfully stocked. There's plenty to do in the local area and it's really close to the coast and some beaches. The family that run it are incredibly kind and thoughtful and are clearly doing a good thing by putting so much thought into preserving the wildlife around the site.

It was a beautiful campsite, quiet and friendly. John came round to welcome you . All amenities are quaint and clean. I don't live too far away, it was perfect to try camping on my own with the dog. I'll be going back.

We loved the peacock pod and would highly recommend. It’s perfect for a short weekend break with everything you need to have a good time . Pod was very cozy and the fire pit and gazebo was perfect. The inside was cozy and comfy and the owners were very welcoming . Would highly recommend!

I loved the campsite. Private and not too big. The middle of September so obviously there weren’t many people around, however, the facilities have been amazing. From the clean toulets to the coffee machine, microwave and even safe box. These were not listed on the af and i definitely think they should be.
It is now saved to the places i will be returning during summer in the future

As with most Hipcamp sites we have visited this is a beautiful field with pitches mown into the meadow grass/flowers, some thought has gone into the positioning as well as most pitches being level (great help with a campervan). Toilet and shower facilities are conveniently place next to the honesty shop that is fairly well stocked with those essentials you always seem to run out of as well as fire wood and kindling. John came to introduce himself to us after we had a chance to settle in and was very helpful and accommodating. The most common approach direction will take you over a country lane for about a 1-1.5miles that suffers from a lot of subsidence and can be tricky for campers on their first approach, however, John was very helpful in providing alternative directions as well as local attractions to visit.

The pitches were a great side, the facilities were perfect and the host was extremely friendly.

Hot tub - Peacock Pod - Glamping
Great place, very clean, quiet.
There was everything you really need to relax and recharge. In the pod there was a TV, a kettle and a small fridge. Outside there was a fire pit with a grill, as well as a bench with a gazebo, so you could sit even in the rain.
There was a toilet close enough, a shower (clean) with hot water. Fridge, freezer and microwave if you need it, everything neat.
If you forget something, don't worry, you can buy it.
The owner took great care to ensure privacy and comfort.
I really recommend it !!!!

Such a lovely, clean, quiet campsite. The honesty shack is such a homely touch and had all basics in there. Joe and Kelly were so welcoming, the animals and walks around were beautiful. Far away enough to get the ‘wild’ camping experience, whilst still being close enough to have days out with lots to do. Perfect for families with kids and dogs but also quiet enough for us just as a couple. 10000% recommend

This was my first experience of camping, Joe and Kelly were brilliant, absolutely loved the site, the vibe and the surroundings were all perfect, couldn’t fault it one little bit, they were on hand when I had requests and very helpful with delivering fire pit and wood and have very clear and precise instructions to ensure the enjoyment and safety of everyone, 100% I will stay again hopefully - thanks a lot guys

We loved the campsite at Moss Rose Campsite. The pitches were set out perfectly with enough space in between. Such a quiet site with lovely facilities and the honesty shop was such a lovely touch and extremely convenient. We had a touch of bad weather so unfortunately had to leave early due to our tent 😒 however John and his wife offered for us to stay in thier pod for no extra charge and if we hadn't have already made the decision to leave then we most definitely would have taken them up on the offer! We cannot wait to return in August for another holiday with hopefully better weather! We would recommend anyone wanting a peaceful escape in a lovely quiet rural campsite with facilities on hand to definitely try Moss Rose Campsite. You'll not be disappointed!

It was a great campsite. The owners are so welcoming on arrival and make sure you know where everything is. What we most loved about the site that it’s not just a field where you park up and then hope that someone doesn’t park up right next to you, on this site the pitches are clearly marked out for you so it’s really great and you have room between pitches so your not on top of each other. If you have forgotten anything like cereal or drinks there’s a few things you can purchase with an honesty box. The shower was great and I think it’s the most powerful one I have ever had on a campsite. I guess the only thing I would say was a negative was that there was only one shower. We went at a time when it was quiet in the morning, if we had gone at a different time it could have been quite a wait. We would definitely stay again and it’s a lovely location and great people, absolutely spot on!!!

It was so peaceful and well laid out. Everyone has plenty of space per pitch and the facilities are well maintained. The added touches of the honesty shack, the charging points and food storage facilities are great. Would definitely stay again and definitely recommend to friends.

We visited John, Joe & Kel’s campsite for a weekend in June and had the best time.
Location wise it’s ideal, just over an hour from Manchester and easily accessible from the motorway too (although feels liked you’re miles from it!).
The campsite is in a field of wildflowers which not only looks pretty, it means everyone has their own area which is a great way to have your own space which we loved. You could get 2 decent sized tents and your car on a pitch. Facilities wise toilets and showers were always clean, there’s only a few but the site was full when we there and we never queued. Charging points, fridge/freezer and the amazing honesty shop are great. The attention to detail and the little things has really been made which we loved.
Joe & Kel were friendly and helpful hosts, checking in on everyone and always about for a chat. And gave us a great recommendation for food the first night as we got there a bit later (Dante’s Italian takeaway in Garstang, 100% recommend if you are visiting).
Overall a top camping spot and experience, we can’t wait to come back with some friends later in the summer.
