Great information about getting to the campsite before hand. A beautiful location by the river. Basic site but just what we wanted.

Lovely area to explore. Beautiful river side walks from the site itself. Quiet and peaceful when we where there. Bere marsh farm across the road so utterly inspiring as a regenerative farm and community space. Mark friendly and available.
However, there is absolutely no water on site, and one chemical toilet for the whole site, despite the icons saying potable water on site. So we were surprised by this inconsistency. The "grass" is long cut stubble, very rough underfoot, so if you have young ones it will be tricky for them to walk around or play.
Very expensive at £30 a night with no water. We are not ones to moan at all, as we have everything on board. But other campers beware, you need to bring plenty of water and have a good pair of boots to stomp around, flip flops not gonna cut it here.

If quiet back to basics camping is your thing then this is for you.
The site was very basic with just land and a toilet but for us that's exactly what we look for.
The area was very rural, we "enjoyed" (kids would possibly debate the use of this word haha) walks at Hambledon Hill and Hod Hill. Both were very hilly but the views were awesome and the were both exceptionally quiet.
At the same time, whilst very rural there was a Co-op with a good range about 2 mins away and a pub if that's your thing.
For us, we just enjoyed some quiet time away.
It was us, two children (9 & 14) and two Rough Collies who also had a great time.
