This campsite is ideal for anyone wanting an authentic campsite experience but still with a degree of comfort! Shared fridges and freezer are really helpful and the showers are nice and hot, just remember to bring a stash of 20ps. The location is unbeatable - 20 min walk to the nearest beach at Beesands and, from there, you're on the coast path to walk in either direction. Torcross is only another half an hour along and again is a beautiful beach. Surrounding area is lovely, lots of gorgeous walks and beaches.
Only slight negatives: the shower meters are outside the showers but start straight away so a little impractical and awkward if you don't want to flash your fellow campers! tbh, I'd rather pay a little more per night and not have to bother with the hassle of meters. Plus 20p for only 2 mins is a little mean (and you can't see how much time you have left so it's all a bit stressful :).
Otherwise, we'd booked the Snug which has gorgeous views but is, well a little snug - our 5 man tent only just fit. But also, at least when we first arrived, we kept getting pongy wafts from the nearby portaloos. To be fair, that was only the first day and we actually moved just off the official pitch a little further down the field. Although it meant we were on a slight slope, we had a lot more space and were pong free!
Finally, a shout out for Jonny who was helpful, friendly and v hard working, coping wonderfully with all the covid-related extra bleaching etc. He keeps the site spic and span and can't do enough to help you - thank you!!
