Nice, quiet site. Lovely staff, the only drawback was the uneven ground which is important as you putting stuff inside your tent and they felling down.

Kestrel Lodge was a lovely place to pitch up! It is perfectly located for hiking and swimming. Both Cassy and Charlie were lovely and had some great pointers for us on our stay.
We loved how the campsite was set up, and really loved being here.
Definitely recommend!

This is a lovely campsite off the beaten track. Small and quiet, but well placed for walking in the Lakes. The facilities fulfil all your basic needs, plus a little more.

A really lovely site, facilities are perfect and the views are fantastic. Loved the communal fire pit where you can sit and meet fellow campers. Also there is a pub within walking distance which was a bonus. Fully recommend, I will return.

Kestrel Lodge is a friendly campsite with lots of little touches to make it an excellent base for a base camp or a one stop. There are thoughtful open anytime honesty boxes filled with useful things you might need or have forgotten - payment into the box or by card when reception open. There's a washing machine, wet room and phone chargers for use too - alongside nice loos and showers. If you have a dog the separate exercise field if fabulous. The location is superb for Skiddaw, the north-western fells and hidden gems like Dash Falls. All in all highly recommended!

We absolutely loved our stay at Kestrel Lodge! The facilities were always spotless and clean. Pitch was great with the fire pit included and hosts were very helpful! We will 100% be back to explore more of the lakes.

Beautiful views. Super friendly hosts who were very welcoming. The shower and toilet facilities were clean throughout our stay. The land was tidy and well laid out. There is a shop with all supplies you may need to get with an honesty box for payment. Lovely quiet site. A good little pub a 20min walk away. Campfires provided for each pitch.
Would definitely recommend and would love to go back!

Great green space with very well maintained facilities. Great to have a separate area for dogs to run around off lead.
Good and useful items in the fridges and honesty boxes. Direct access to gorgeous walks.
Would defo come back again.

About a mile trek from Bassenthwaite Village...fabulously large area with a multitude of different pitches next to individual fire pits. Cases was a fantastic when I met her, very warm and friendly. 100% will be pitching here again!

This was a fantastic campsite. Everybody was friendly, there was a 24 hour shop selling wood and all necessities for a fire, aswell as them providing a fire pit. Every morning there were cockerels and chickens which came to greet us when waking up. There was a lovely undercover seating area which was for all campers to use aswell as of lots of parking on site. The on site shop sold everything that you needed for your camping weekend. The toilet and shower facilities were very clean and the showers were porweful. You could start your hikes from the campsite, but it meant passing cows, sheep and bulls along the way.

Stunning location and a perfect campsite, incredibly relaxing and spacious whilst being well maintained with everything you need there including local maps and knowledge. They had 3 well equipt yurts , a dog running area, free roaming chickens, fire pits and logs etc and walks to the local fells accessible from your tent too. Lovely all round! Can't wait to go back.

I found the site to be beautiful as well as the views were stunning, plus i can honestly say that the site was well maintained and kept clean especially the toilet block. I will certainly be booking the site again and hopefully for a longer stay.

I absolutely loved camping at kestrel lodge. The campsite had everything you need, the firepits with each pitch were a bonus. Will definatly be returning in August!

Everything about this spot was perfect. The welcome was warm, quick and informative.
The camping spot was a big plot allocated, you had lots of space to enjoy yourself.
The fire pits were a great addition and we weren’t expecting them. Had we been there longer we would have definitely had a fire (logs are available on site). You can also buy a few bits of food onsite if needed.
The facilities were great. 3 sinks to wash, a couple of toilets and a shower for each gender. The water was LOVELY and warm!
A pub is a 15 minute walk down the road, which was nice for an evening drink.
We weren’t sure what the best walk was and the reception gave us good directions to walk up Skiddaw via Dash. This was about 2 and a half hours each way. You’d need hiking shoes, but wasn’t too challenging.
I couldn’t recommend this any higher, if you’re looking for a great place to camp in Keswick.

Traditional family camping in a quiet spot with easy access to North East Lakeland. Very clean and spacious. Our children enjoyed the friendly free range chickens. We liked the 10pm quiet rule. Excellent hot showers.

Booked a grass tent pitch for three over the weekend and the whole experience was great. Beautiful location just a short walk to Skiddaw. The owners were nice and made us feel very welcome. They have an honesty shop which is handy if you run out of bacon on a morning. It's got good facilities and the showers are nice and hot. Also you can have a campfire on your tent pitch which is a bonus. Will definitely return :)

Really great campsite. Everything you could need - good shower/toilet block, great pitches with fire pits at every one, shop with all essential camping food items, fire food and eggs from the on-site chicken. Would definitely recommend! Thank you Louise :)
