Wylde Valley Camping

· Bude, Cornwall, England
14 acres hosted by Wylde Valley C.
27 glamping pitches · 103 motorhome/tent pitches
A popular festival space that's now a bona fide campsite, with modern, pop-up facilities and a top North Cornwall location

This is camping, as it should be. Starry skies, peace and quiet, 14 acres to explore and a choice of large, quality camping spots or glamping options.

Five miles from Cornwall's northern coast, the site boasts 14 acres of camping pitches surrounded by rolling, sheep-grazed hills and bushy hedgerows. It's a relatively hidden spot, set just back from a country lane that's only real traffic seems to be tractors or guests arriving at the campsite. The meadows themselves have drinking water taps, proper flushing loos, hot showers and well-maintained stone tracks. And, for those who are averse to setting up their own tent, Wylde Valley’s luxury boutique bell tents await, letting you wake up on memory foam mattresses, before ambling out onto your wooden patio for a morning coffee.

But while Wylde Valley may have its more luxurious offerings for those looking to be pampered campers, it also prides itself on being an unfussy campsite for those simply looking to explore the great outdoors. Campfires are allowed, families make up the majority of campers and there's oodles and oodles of space. The adjacent lane is part of the national cycle network (route 304), which you can follow all the way north to Bude if you've brought your bikes, and beaches such as Crackington Haven and Widemouth Bay are less than 15 minutes' drive. Indeed, most of North Cornwall and Devon’s biggest attractions reside within a 20-mile radius.

When it’s not running as a campsite, the site plays host to its flagship festival Leopallooza, and several live music events a year. But there’s no chance of festival goers or merry makers disturbing you. For the rest of the summer, you’re more likely to be woken by the sounds of birdsong, or the stream that makes its way down the boundary of the meadow. It’s  easy to understand why opening the campsite for Leopallooza every year was never going to be long enough. Opening for the whole of the summer? Now that's a much better idea.

Large Pitch + 16Amp Electric Hookup
Brilliant Campsite.. give it a try!
Lovely Campsite.. amenities are easily the best I have come across.. by some margin! 100% recommend. The team are relaxed, friendly and welcoming, yet run a well maintained and clean campsite. Particular thanks to Mark, who was always helpful 👍🏼

Large Pitch (non-electric)
Unfortunately we couldn't attend as my partner had covid the day before we were due to leave! However, I wanted to write a review to say how understanding the team were, they kept in touch and enquried about my partner and arranged a refund as we were unable to rebook. So although I can't comment on the site or facilities I can say they were very helpful and kind and I would be happy to recommend them due to this.

4 metre Bell Tent
We went on bank holiday with our families. Such a lovely place to stay and explore beautiful Cornwall. We stayed three nights in Bell tents. There were absolutely amazing. It could have been even better if they make those walking stone path all the way to tents. Which should make less dirty. When its wet ground. Your shoes pick ups dirt and take into tent. There was toilet and shower faculties and cleaned very well. It would be great if there is hot water in the sink taps. It would good use if you can take your own electric cooking kit as there isn't any shop around glamping site. We went to get takeaways few times from Bude. Which is 20 mins drive. Would love to visit again in future. Highly recommended.

Large Pitch + 16Amp Electric Hookup
My family and I have had numerous camping trips to Cornwall, all of which have been incredibly enjoyable, but Wylde Valley is without doubt the best camp site we've ever stayed at. The large electric plot we had was just that, large, more space than we could believe. The site facilities were also superb and the showers were without doubt the best we'd experienced on a camp site! I would have no reservation in recommending Wylde Valley Camping!

Just got back from Wylde Valley Camping. We had a wonderful stay. Really loved the option of booking a fire pit for the evenings. The showers are the best I’ve ever used while camping- proper rain showers which are lovely and hot. From our tent we could hear the live music, which was nice as you can still experience the atmosphere while at your tent. It was all nice and quiet by 9 though. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Welcome to Wylde Valley Camping! We're a camping and glamping site for lovers of trees, countryside, starry skies, peaceful surroundings, wildlife and nature. Campers will find large pitches, some with electric hook ups, plenty of space, and five star facilities in our beautiful, purpose built toilet and shower block. Flushing toilets, oodles of hot water from our fancy dual head showers, mirrors, plugs and did we mention? Plenty of space. Glampers will arrive to their own bell tent, perched on its fairylight-strewn wooden deck, and furnished with handbuilt furniture. You'll get a comfy night's sleep on memory foam mattresses under crisp, hotel-quality bedding. All our bell tents have power, and come complete with firepit and comfy chairs for kicking back on the deck. Nestled in the hills, overlooking an area of outstanding natural beauty - Wylde Valley sees spectacular sunsets, starry skies, and is an easy distance from Cornwall’s most beautiful beaches. We are also a stone’s throw away from the moors, and several National Trust Heritage sites, as well as historic towns and villages.
