A small, family-run pod glamping site for families, close to the beaches of Newquay
Going camping, understandably, might not be every person’s cup of tea. It’s quite likely, especially in the British Isles, that there’ll be dirt and dishevelment, wind and rain, and a bad night’s sleep rather than cosy marshmallow eating in your favourite onesie under the stars. This is something that Fiona and her family, owners of The Beeches Glamping, recognise immediately: “The adults love to go into a comfortable bed in the evening and have a nice hot shower in their pod without having to go to a communal shower block.” For young families on holiday in Cornwall, this is a campsite designed with comfort and relaxation in mind. Oh, and they’ve got hot tubs.
Perfectly situated for the best of British holidaying, The Beeches Glamping is just a stone's throw from vibrant surfer town Newquay, but also just far enough away to retreat from the summer throng. And a retreat is exactly what you get once you enter through the electric gate to the compound of four Scandi-style pods, each with en suite shower rooms, smart TVs, and double beds. There’s plenty of space on the site for the kids to run amok but remain within view of their parents. “It's one of the things the guests love most about the place — it’s very safe for children,” says Fiona, who, with her husband and four children, have created a playground for adults and children alike.
As well as the luxury pods, there are various additions that give this place a bit of extra character. For example, two of the pods have wood-fired hot tubs, dogs are permitted to stay in two of the pods (WIllow and Hazel), and there is a separate undercover barbecue area for evening hire that seats 10 and has mood lighting and a Bluetooth speaker. The whole place is available for exclusive hire, too, and if after a day spent at one of the many beaches of Fistral or Newquay Bay you want to clean up properly, there is a laundry room with an honesty box offering the use of a washing machine and tumble dryer. Camping doesn’t have to be wild and uncomfortable, just as having a nice room to stay in doesn’t have to be in a boring hotel. It seems that The Beeches Glamping has found just the right balance.

Cedar Glamping Pod
It was perfect! Clean, spotless, gorgeous views, hot tub was fantastic, beds super comfortable and shower was powerful. There was even a full length mirror essential when getting ready for a wedding! Can’t wait to go back!

Cedar Glamping Pod
Me and my boyfriend stayed in the Cedar pod for two nights and it could not of been anymore perfect. I already expected it to be great from the reviews. It exceeded our expectations in all aspects. The pod had everything you needed for a perfect weekend away. For example, there were towels, underfloor heating!! soap (this smelt incredible and made the whole bathroom smell gorgeous), tea, coffee, milk, toilet rolls, hair dryer and lots more. There was an honestly shop just next to our pod if you needed anything which was very handy for us as we needed more wood the second night. I highly recommend this pod it’s in a great location just a 10 minute drive to Newquay seafront, the pods were spotless, it had a hot-tub, fire/bbq and a seating area. I loved it I can’t express how perfect it was. At night we got in the hot-tub and had a bbq this was enjoyed with a stunning view. I would recommend visiting this pod anytime of the year it’s suitable for rain or sunny days. We will definitely be back again soon! I can’t wait to re-book already. I 100% recommend this place!

Willow Glamping Pod
We had a very enjoyable break at The Beeches Glamping, we stayed in Maple and it was very clean, warm and comfortable.
This place is great for a quiet break, there are only 4 glamping pods and a large garden area that is very safe for dogs or kids.
We are planning on booking all 4 of them next year and taking the whole family.
Would recommend to anyone.

Hazel glamping pod
I arrived on the Friday to a very neat and calm atmosphere. I was greeted by the owner, Fiona, who explained how everything works along with a bit of background on how she set up and the multiple places to visit in the nearby area.
The pod was very clean, modern and cosy with all the extra features like the hot tub, fire pit and snack shop ! The bed was comfy, shower had a great temperature and pod was well insulated/quite for the nights sleep.
The location was great, 15 minute drive to Newquay front which offered many quirky shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, activities. The site is tucked away off a country road meaning that silence is guaranteed !
Overall I really enjoyed the weekend of which I spent at the Beeches glamp site. In terms of ideal location, vibe and cleanliness this is perfect.
The only con I would say about the beeches Glamping is that the tubs can take a little while to heat up (should you choose a pod with a tub) but then again I did choose to go in October !
From the host
We would love to welcome you to our glamping site situated 6 miles from Newquay. We have spectacular views of the countryside and our guests can experience the great outdoors while enjoying luxury pod accommodation.
Breathe in the fresh country air, enjoy the starry skies while soaking in the hot tub and make memories toasting marshmallows around the fire.
We have 4 luxury glamping pods, two of these come with a private wood-fired hot tub. We also have an on site honesty shop, firepits, a undercover BBQ hut, laundry room and a huge enclosed playing field which is enjoyed by children and adults.
Our accommodation is perfect for lovers of the outdoors, families, couples, walkers, cyclists, or anyone who would like to explore Cornwall and enjoy the great outdoors.
We also welcome dogs in two of our pods - Willow and Hazel.
Ideally located just a fifteen-minute drive from bustling Newquay, the super surf town should not be missed, especially for beginner board riders. There are many different surf schools in the area but the two most tried, tested, and trusted are Escape Surf School (07810 805624) and Quiksilver Surf School (01637 851800). Both of these schools offer a wealth of surfing experience from ex-professionals and solely focus on surfing instead of water sports. For families with younger children, Newquay Zoo (01637 873342) is worth a visit. Just on the outskirts of Newquay and less than 20 minutes away by car, the zoo boasts lions, monkeys, and meerkats among others so should keep the whole family well entertained. Lappa Valley (01872 510317), which is under three miles from the campsite, has a miniature steam train that takes its passengers on a journey through Cornish countryside to arrive in a 35-acre adventure playground with boating lakes, crazy golf, and woodland walks. The Eden Project (01726 811911) is less than half an hour away by car to the south and England's longest National Trail, the South West Coast Path, can be walked or cycled at any point along the coast of Cornwall and beyond.
Food and drink
There is an honesty shop on the campsite selling basic essentials such as logs, marshmallows, eggs, and tea bags. The nearest pub to The Beeches Glamping, The Plume of Feathers (01872 510387), is in the village of Mitchell just one mile away, and serves fantastic food. The London Inn (01872 510281), five minutes drive away, serves traditional home-cooked food as well as local ales. Not to be missed, and especially because it's less than a ten-minute drive north up the A30, is the excellent fish and chippery Port and Starboard (01726 860270). It's a family-run business with a background in farming, so the fish is sustainable and caught fresh and one of the team is an award-winning chef. For more menu choices and slightly closer to the campsite, Treffry Tavern (01673 839560) comes highly recommended. It has a kids' menu, vegan and vegetarian options, and apparently does a very good Sunday roast. The nearest local shop is in Summercourt, two miles away, and for supermarkets, go to Newquay or Truro.
