We adore everything about the little paradise that Nancy and Bert have built so lovingly over the years. It's an absolute respite that feels like it's in a faraway land, but within ten minutes of absolutely everything. We've stayed at the treehouse and at Hiker's Haven't, and they're equally magical. We can't say enough about the whole experience, and we'll continue to go back as often as we possibly can.

What a lovely retreat! The treehouse was warm, comfortable, and perfectly appointed. The land was quiet, full of trails, and beautiful. I can't wait to return!

I had an incredible time at this glamping treehouse—it was truly a special experience. The host clearly thought of everything and provided an amazing, well-planned stay from start to finish. I already can’t wait to come back in the summer.
That said, this was also an excellent winter camping trip. The treehouse stayed toasty warm all night, even with outside temperatures dropping into the low 20s and strong winds. We woke up to an unexpected 3–4 inches of snow, made a fire, and cooked chocolate chip pancakes with hot coffee—it was absolutely incredible.
The hosts are great people, the experience was unforgettable, and I highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for something unique and memorable.

My husband and I loved staying at Treehouse!! If you are looking for a magical place in nature, look no further! The Treehouse is a very private and tranquil spot in the woods that is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city life. The hammock was by far our favorite spot to relax in and gaze up to the sky. We had perfect weather for hiking and the trails are well marked and maintained. We even got to see a deer while out on the trails! Nighttime is meant for fires and the fire pit area with tiki torches is beautiful and relaxing. We came back home recharged and refreshed. Bert and Nancy are incredible hosts with the most positive energy! They thought of every little detail and Bert was very attentive just in case we needed anything, but not intrusive. I am pretty sure we over packed lol Can’t wait to book our next stay!

This has to be one of the most amazing places I’ve ever stayed…I haven’t even been home less than 24 hours and have requested to book another stay on this serene property!
Nancy & Bert have created a tranquil and magical property where one can come to unwind and enjoy the beauty of Nature. They have thought of every detail to make it such a smooth stay. Get ready for owl calls, moss-strewn hikes, artistic touches & an amazing time.

We had such an amazing time at the octagon! The grounds are very well maintained and everything we could've needed and more was provided by our hosts. There was an amazing amount of detail and care put into everything. We could not have had a better stay!

Five stars aren’t enough to describe our stay at the picturesque Octagon. This is a perfect getaway for a solo traveler or couple. Nancy thought of all the details, and we felt so welcomed. We cooked dinner over the bonfire, and in addition to the tiny house, enjoyed the outdoor shower and a hike through this beautiful property. I hope to return one day!

After a must needed retreat this was the place. Bert and Nancy are the sweetest couple. Upon welcoming Nancy and I met with a warm hug she greeted me, which felt like family. My heart ❤️ goes to this beautiful property. My eyes were in just such gratitude seeing this land. This is a great taste of New England too for 🐟 Nancy and Bert are so kind and generous ☂️multiple things they have already prepared son you can pack less. Bug spray, dishes, soap 🧼. Love the tripod for grilling.
We would love to be back. This is a great place to make memories with our family. ✌🏻Don’t forget the Trails! Excited for that next. 🍄🌲

This was our second time staying at the Hiker's Haven. It was very peaceful and relaxing. We had a lovely little fire in the fire pit. The trails are well maintained. It all made for a very rejuvenating stay. We do hope to stay again in the future, maybe it will become a yearly tradition.

Pleasant, attentive, detailed hosts! Nancy made sure we are comfortable and showed us everything. She was so prepared, staying at her tree house is like staying in five stars hotel! Clean, all and even more than enough all essential supplies you’ll need to stay comfortable. Easy to reach and communicate if you have any questions. Gorgeous, peaceful place to visit, stay and enjoy. This is definitely a come back place! Thank you very much for doing such a great business.

It was fantablious. Nancy and Bert are wonderful. The greeted us with a warm welcome, helped us carry our luggage to the tree house, brought up a tent to put over the fire pit so that we could enjoy a fire at night and cook out without getting wet. 😊

I would love to take this time to express the wonderful time I had. The tranquility was exactly what I was looking for. The cabin had all the necessities needed to get comfortable and enjoy nature right at your feet. Nancy was such a joy to speak with and to get to know. The land itself is beautiful with so many wonderful trails to walk along. Would definitely recommend staying here to anyone and everyone. AHO!

Loved my stay at the Water Forest Retreat Treehouse. It was a beautiful and peaceful visit. The forest trails were well maintained and the grounds were amazing. Nancy did a great job with the treehouse decor as well as all of the details of grounds and trails! The treehouse cabin had everything I needed I really only needed to bring myself, my food and some bundles of firewood. Hosts were great and upon my arrival I was greeted as well as given a hand to help carry my firewood to my site along with a quick tour of my accommodations. Had a visit from a big beautiful owl perched on a tree limb right beside the upper deck. Thank you for a great stay! Looking forward to returning soon.

Where do I start? Everything was meticulously clean (outhouse is nicer than my home primary bath). There are so many places to sit and enjoy, contemplate, etc. They provide beyond standard needs (when was the last time your hotel provided a phone cord? How about three of them?). So much privacy! The car is conveniently close, but it or any neighbors can’t be seen! It’s like having your own state park. I’m going to return treating this hideaway as my destination—not as a place to sleep between visits to Mystic.

The tree house was like a luxury hotel room in the woods! You’re close to the house (short walk to your car) but set back in the woods far enough to be very private. The woods were beautiful, the tree house was gorgeous! Comfortable, everything you would need for your stay is provided; cooking utensils, grill, snacks! Above and beyond stay in the woods!
