We were chased out by rain and lightning on our first night, but we really loved the site! Would absolutely recommend Erwin Estate! It was remote and secluded - exactly what we were looking for. Definitely need a vehicle that can handle a rough rode.

If you’re reading this review, book this camping spot! Mr. Erwin’s land and view are breathtakingly beautiful. The elevated campsite, swing, and fire pit are an awesome bonus, as is the fishing pond and hiking trails on this property. Would highly recommend!!

On Top of Arkansas
We enjoyed two nights on top of High Point. We are big fans of camps with a view, and this was breathtaking. The best view we got during our visit to Hot Springs, AR.
Mike reached out to us directly during our travels in and arranged a time to meet. He met us with some treats and led us to the site, gave us the history of it, and was such a kind, welcoming soul. Could have talked to him for hours.
With storms rolling in, night one was windy. While initially setting up tent on the platform, we moved to a lower spot behind a car, but yet on the mountain. We could have slept up top, but it was difficult to "stake" down the tent. We read in reviews, others set up at the lower pond during windier conditions. We felt safe and protected atop High Point, while not on the platform.
Night two was absolute bliss. While the sunset was awesome night one, night two, with the calmness, provided a peaceful and serene setting to enjoy nature while contemplating all of life.
There were 4 "luggable loos" on site. We also filled up our water with the "elixir of the Gods" at Happy Hollow in town to enjoy during our stay. It was a short 25-30 minutes into Hot Springs which we felt close enough, but a good retreat given the views.
On our way out, in saying thanks to Mike, he showed us the kunekune pigs. We continued to learn more history of the property from Mike and enjoyed the time with him.
As we told Mike in departing, "we have a group of friends we'd love to bring back."

This site is really unique and special. Private, and the view is just spectacular. I wish we'd had more time to explore the land, but we were only there a night. Host Susan and her dad Mike were excellent and super helpful. Mike had great suggestions for places to check out in Hot Springs as well. Highly recommend it!

Erwin Estate was super cute! Definitely a long drive to the top. We were staying in a roof tent on our car. It wouldn’t have mattered, but the first night we stayed the winds were crazy fast that we had to pack up and drive down to the little pond in the middle of the night. It was a bit scary so I recommend feeling out the wind before setting up. The second night, however, was totally fine up on the high point!

entirely worth camping in January
Even before we arrived, our host was patient and eager to help us with out stay. He called us when we got lost and helped us find the location. Then, he helped us start a fire as the temperature was quickly dropping. Our stay was cold, as expected, but we would stay again for the views! If you are wanting a reliable place to camp or a good first camping experience, I cannot recommend this more! We cannot want to come back in the summer!!

Can't recommend this place enough!
This is a very special spot. Mr Erwin was very welcoming and easy to talk to. We spent two nights here in November and the weather and scenery was just what we were looking for. It is a unique experience in the Southeast US to be able to car camp in solitude with such a spectacular view.
