We are a rustic campsite located on a working farm in the heart of East Sussex. Our campsite is set in a 3 acre field which is mainly flat with some wooded areas. We are open to tents, campervans, motorhomes or caravans so whatever your preferred way of staying in the countryside there will be a perfect spot to pitch on our campsite.

Our simple campsite offers drinking water, hot showers, compost toilet facilities, and waste disposal (recycling, general waste and chemical disposal point). Camp fires are allowed and fire pits can be hired and logs purchased.

We welcome children and well behaved dogs, but guests must be aware that this is still a working farm, with tractors, machinery and livestock in adjacent fields.

We loved our camping trip to Heronsdale - very empty being midweek and we had a lovely spot underneath the elm tree with views of the Downs in the background. Very clean drop toilets, super hot showers. Fresh eggs.

Chilled out camping, pick a spot and pitch up. Compost loos were very clean and perfectly adequate. Showers were good and hot. Walks from the campsite to very nice pubs. We didn’t drive anywhere for 2 days. Lizzie was amazing when we needed a bit of help getting out after a night of rain.
We will be back.
A lovely spot in the Sussex countryside.

A hidden little gem, perfect for getting away from it all. We stayed for 3 nights and it was amazing. Really quiet, respectful other campers and excellent hosts. We had a deluge of rain on our last night and Lizzie was quickly on hand with a super red tractor to tow the caravan out. If you want manicured pitches with posh facilities and entertainment, this is not the site for you. It was liberating to shower in a shed and the compost toilets were really ok. Make sure you have a torch when you go at night as there are no lights. Will definitely be going again!!

Went for a 3 night mid-week break with family and we all loved it. Peaceful location, simple but clean facilities - loved the hot showers. Watching the stars and listening to the owls at night - perfect. As mentioned by others, ground was wet in parts ( had been raining in the days before our arrival) but we found dry enough ground. Others have mentioned lack of washing up facilities- wasn’t a big deal for us. What you lose in convenience you gain in simplicity.
Lizzie was friendly and helpful, great to have fire pit & wood supplies. Beautiful walks & countryside in the area. Highly recommend.

Nice location but unfortunately a disappointing noisy experience, particularly for my daughter who was having her first camping trip with her baby and toddler:
- we missed the entrance as the temporary signs are small
- there was no-one to meet us (opens 1pm; we arrived 3:30pm)
- we knew it was a working farm, but when the manager eventually came round, she failed to mention that the fields directly next to us would be mown starting at 6:45am the next day (Saturday)
- the rules state that "noisy ..behaviour will not be allowed on the site and campers who do not adhere to the rules will be asked to leave.” But the rules were not enforced and we were kept awake on Friday night by a large group who talked and laughed loudly throughout the night until 2am
- it was hard to get to sleep with the local church bells chiming every half hour
- we were woken suddenly Saturday morning by the mowing which was so loud that we could not hear each other speak and lasted an hour
- the manager came around at the end of Saturday afternoon because she needed our permission to use a drone to take pictures - this was a very last minute request as the drone appeared almost immediately, at the same time, she explained that she thought that we would have been awake already when the mowing started..
- our daughter left Saturday as she could not face another sleepless night.
