Trapper Arts Camping Retreat

7 sites · RVs, Tents22 acres · Cornell, WI
Trapper Arts Retreat in NW Wisconsin has (4) waterfront sites and (1) wooded rustic site. Located on a 1/4 mile long dead-end road (except Bob Lake West) on a 90 acre clear water no-wake lake. Only 5 minutes from the Chippewa County Forest for hiking/biking/ATV adventures! SEASONAL NOTE: Water has been shut off for the season and the boats have been put in storage until spring but you are welcome to continue to book our sites. The Chippewa County Forest (16,000 acres) Hickory Ridge Trailhead is located about 5 miles away. You can enjoy miles of hiking, biking, ATV or horseback riding trails. Trails wind past small lakes and beaver ponds, as well as spectacular vistas and abundant wild life. LIST OF SITES: BIRCH Waterfront is our medium size campsite with a level gravel pad and waterfront access via a long dock for fishing and boating. EAGLE POINT is a favorite because it is the most private, surrounded by trees and is on a elevated waterfront lot with steps down to a dock, has a canoe and a row boat and the best spectacular sunset views. The eagle's nest is in a tall pine tree above the steps! LARGE Waterfront Site is perfect for groups and multiple campers (no more than 3 please). This site has multiple power and water connections and easy level lake access. There is a dock, row boat and kayak available also. BOB LAKE WEST is our only site that is not on this dead end road. It is located on the west side of the lake near the boat landing. Partially wooded elevated site with power, water, dock, row boat, outhouse, fire-ring, and firewood. BOB LAKE RUSTIC Wooded non-waterfront campsite has no power or water but can access Bob Lake and use the row boat at our common lake access. Great for the adventurers who like to rough it. This property was previously owned by Trapper Art who was well known in the area and started several successful businesses dating back to 1967 including Art's Snowmobile, Trapper Arts, and Art's Electric which was quite an accomplishment in the Wisconsin Northwoods!

Rural property that once was a combination of a dairy farm and commercial woodland. It is rare in that it has a 40 acre field, a 5 acre island, a year round creek and over 2,000 feet of river frontage and nearly 40 acres of woods. Learn more about this land: There are over 80 acres of woods, fields and an island to explore. The property has over 2,000 feet of frontage on the Chippewa River. There is also a year around creek that flows through the property to the river. Currently there are three separate sites that are suitable for camping on the bank of the Chippewa. The river along the property is great for wading, swimming, canoeing/kayaking and fishing. There are over a dozen lakes within a 20 mile radius of the property. Less than 3 miles from the property there are snowmobile and four wheeling trails that connect to trails that extend over 300 miles. The property is less than 15 miles from the headquarters of the Ice Age Trail that stretches from near Superior to near Madison, Wisconsin.
