Mother Earth's Pocket

8 sites ¡ RVs, Tents5 acres ¡ Stanwood, WA
Over 100 years ago, this property was logged of all of it's old growth conifers. Well, things have been growing here ever since. There are many old growth stumps dotted around the property; many acting as "nurse or Mother logs" to new growth. We have been here for 30 years & have select logged keeping the integrity of the property in tact. These trees know they are loved and honored. They are happy & it shows. You feel the vibe a soon as you drive up. Since then we have blazed trails & carved out campsites & campgrounds throughout. All of them resembling nature's little carved out "rooms." We have enjoyed this property for these past 33 years. We have shared it with family & friends time & time again. There is so much love & positive energy breathing within these boundaries. I have been very fortunate to have been able to share this place. Now, thanks to Hipcamp, I can share it with you & your family & friends. Let Mother Earth's Pocket host your next family camping trip. Looking forward to it. We'll leave the light on for y'all!!

Valhalla Tree Farm

6 sites ¡ Lodging, RVs, Tents100 acres ¡ Arlington, WA
When Earl and Laurine Ingebright found an ad in a local paper for sixty acres near Arlington, in 1958, they knew it would be a place for family fun, relaxation, and their own private forest. What they could not have anticipated was the sheer diversity of projects, parties, and fun that the family would pursue on the property over the coming generations. From forest stewardship and timber harvesting, to campsites and trail construction, to rock concerts and wine making. While they have since passed, these founders began something truly amazing; A tree farm that showcases the successful accomplishment of almost every objective a forest landowner could have. Timber production, wildlife, aesthetics, recreation, and forest resiliency. Valhalla embodies all these things with so little conflict as to look effortless.

Whidbey Island Christmas Tree Farm

4 sites ¡ RVs, Tents20 acres ¡ Freeland, WA
We are a 20 acre tree farm in the making on beautiful Whidbey Island. The property is rough graded with lots of areas to explore. No water. Tons of fire wood to glean. Close to town for supplies but quiet and crazy stars at night. We have cleared two of the cedar groves on the south side, and they are perfect campsites. The sites are 75'-100' apart, more private than a state park, but close enough that a bigger group would feel close. Portable Toilet is on site 100' from the Big Cedar site. May through October Cedar Hallow- Our original campsite, sports a hammock, a picnic table, a fire pit, & good area for 2 tents, probably 6 people. The site has huge cedar trees all around so it's filtered sunlight most of the day, & warm in the summer! Big Cedar- Our bigger site. Equipped with a fire pit, a picnic table, hammock, and space for 3-4 tents, probably 12 people comfortably. There is a dirt road that circles the property, it's great for walks and animal viewing but can get muddy in the rain so be prepared. Parking is a gravel lot directly across the little dirt road from the sites. Unload at the site then move to parking as to not block the road. Trucks with campers can pull tight to a site but don't pull into a site please, obey standard fallen tree limb boundaries. The great wide open forest to the south allows for nice nature calls bathroom walks, go deep. Thanks

Camping near Warm Beach guide

Overview

Situated on Port Susan on Washington's northern coast and just outside of Stanwood, Warm Beach is a small community with a tiny sand beach and a grocery store. It's home to Lake Martha, one of the deepest lakes in Snohomish County and a good spot for fishing and swimming. The lake also has a public launch (for non-gas-powered boats). The smaller Lake Howard is just south of Lake Martha and also allows non-gas-powered boats and fishing, while  Kayak Point Regional County Park—just south of town—offers camping, disc golf, and fishing.

Where to go

Whidbey Island

Situated between the Olympic Peninsula and I-5, this large island is a popular getaway for urban Washingtonians, particularly in summer. Popular activities on the island include hiking, cycling, clamming, crabbing, fishing, kayaking, and of course, camping.

The Tulalip Reservation

Just south of Warm Beach, the Tulalip Reservation offers a mix of beaches and woods, with a few campgrounds for good measure. It's also home to a few of the region's smaller, off-the-beaten path lakes, including Weallup Lake and John Sam Lake.

The Olympic Peninsula

This pretty stretch of forested land is home to cute coastal towns and mile upon mile of lush forest. Don’t miss the Hoh Rainforest, inside the Olympic National Forest.

When to go

The best time to camp in and around Warm Beach is from June through September, when there's a relatively low chance of rain (by Pacific Northwest standards) and warm weather. July and August are pleasant, with highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s, but these are also the most crowded months, as kids are out of school in the area. If you’re in town for the holidays, the Warm Beach Camp & Conference Center hosts an annual drive-through lights display.
