When the opportunity presented itself in late 2018, Dan and Maggie teamed up with Chuck and Susie Velie to purchase 130 acres along the Hoh River. They all had a common goal of providing an intimate outdoor experience for those looking to disconnect themselves from the everyday life and reconnect with nature by offering an incredible outdoor experience. Chuck Velie, (son of Gary and Beth Velie) is the great-great grandson of John Huelsdonk, more commonly known as the Iron Man of the Hoh. This property has been in the family for many many generations. It is our goal to preserve the heritage of this property while drawing tourism and helping local businesses attract customers. We believe that this is an investment in our community that rewards us today and leaves an invaluable resource for future generations. Maple Creek Outfitter is dedicated to creating the best outdoor experience for their guests including comfortable rustic accommodations and an environment that is rich in beauty and bounty.

Enjoy it every time

This is our second occasion using this camp site. Lots of space. Quiet. Well kept and our hosts are supportive. Access to the river is very close. Lots of space, wildlife, and scenery.

Site 6 - Hoh River Campsites

Excellent spot, will likely revisit

Very clean sites. Easy navigation, helpful hosts provide directions, camp rules and a map of the sites and down to the river. The sites themselves are fairly private. You can hear other campers, but it wouldn't bother unless someone was being deliberately loud. The only bad thing you can really find is that there are a few moles making the ground lumpy, but if that bothers you, maybe camping isn't your thing. 😃 It's down a dirt road, so if you choose this camp, please be courteous and go slow so you don't dust the residents.

Site 6 - Hoh River Campsites

We loved our stay at the river. We were the last campers of the season, and had the entire campground to ourselves. Dan and Maggie were friendly, communicative, helpful, and kind. The river, Hoh rainforest, and Ruby beach kept us entertained for the weekend. The gravel piles on the property were a huge hit with our daughter! We will definitely be back.

Gorgeous, quiet, and well organized

Wonderful, quiet campground off the beaten path. Enjoyed all of the wild blackberry bushes, the wildlife, and the river itself. Spacious sites with plenty of room to adjust your RV as needed. 10/10 would stay again!
