Site 7 - Vashon Camping
Such a simple campsite, which is why we loved it! Right next to downtown Vashon, which was also great! We will definitely be back 😊

Site 5 - Vashon Camping
Unexpectedly private spot off Main street and close to restaurants and shops. The sites were well spaced with good tree canopy- better then some state campgrounds. Water spigot is shared and located near this site but other campers can access without treading too close. Only negative was the porta-potty - could have been cleaner. Would come back for sure.

Site 8 - Vashon Camping
This was a AWESOME campgrounds! Of course it’s not like primitive camping deep in the Tetons backcountry — but of course it’s not — it’s Vashon Island! I found the site plenty dark & quiet (no drive in movie screen at all) and FANTASTICALLY located in the true center of the island. I needed a budget spot well located and safe (older female camping solo) This perfect spot fit that to a T! Vashon Island is a treasure but it can be a bit spendy. This place is VERY reasonably priced! Jacob the camp host was super kind & accommodating and answered all my questions quickly & helpfully with an authentically friendly vibe. I honestly don’t grok the couple of negative reviews here — I’ve literally camped all across America and this is a wonderful, safe & convenient campsite. 10/10 will defo camp here again! Mucho thanks, Jacob!

Has potential for future greatness
We were pleased to find availability for this last minute Labor Day weekend trip. Overall everything was as advertised. Spacious site, potable water nearby, easy to find location centered to just about everything Vashon Island has to offer. Only complaint is in regards to the state of the Port-a-Potties. While they hadn't seen much use they also hadn't seen much cleaning and were overrun with spiders and other such creepy crawlies. Thankfully someone in our group is far more fearless than I and spent a little time cleaning & wiping down the inside and outside so we could feel comfortable using one of the two units. Others have mentioned the campground's proximity to the facility that hosts drive-in movies in the summer and I am not sure how they could be so bothered by something like this. It was not too bright, there is no sound unless you tune in to the correct radio frequency and anyone who thought they were headed to a remote location in the woods obviously did not do their research. This is a great place to have a basecamp for island exploring or just a little R & R. We'll be back for sure.
