This 20-acre wooded area is situated less than 2 miles from Double Bluff Beach and next door to Dance Fish Winery. Your accommodations are secluded and include a hot outdoor shower, BBQ grill, large cooler, lanterns, fire pit, linens for beds, and an outhouse. One king bed and cot are available upon request. Come and enjoy nature and all that Whidbey Island has to offer. We can accommodate up to 3 people, possibly 4 if two small children. No large groups or parties are allowed, and guests must respect the property and nature.Enjoy your private safari tent and have access to your own fire pit, picnic table, and hot outdoor shower. Your site is a short walk from your parking spot, and you will have complete privacy. The trail is lined with whimsical lighting, and you are surrounded by mature forest. We provide a BBQ, linens, cooler, drinking water, lanterns, one cast iron pan, a small pot, grilling tools, coffee, a coffee press, towels, and marshmallow roasters. We also provide one bundle of wood, kindling, and fire starters, and additional wood is available for $5 per bundle. Please note that there is no electricity in the tents and no water spout. We fill roughly 5 gallons of water for your use and can refill it upon request.

Big Cedar Camp Bluff Tent
Bad Directions
The good: The description of the property is accurate, and the tent and camp site were lovely. They even provided complementary ingredients to roast s'mores. The lavatory and shower were much better than we expected. The bad: The host gave us directions to the wrong camp site, which proved to be catastrophic and humiliating (no joke, it was an awful night). We arrived at 7:00 PM and found the campsite according to the texted directions from the host. We then texted the host to make sure we were at the right campsite, as the site was different from the picture on the website. They didn’t see or respond to our text. We went to bed around 9:30 PM. At 10:00 PM, the party that had actually reserved Site 1 (that's what I'm calling it, none of the camps had specific names posted) arrived and basically said "WTF?". What the F*** indeed. The host was still unavailable to us via text, so in the middle of the night...in a pitch black forest we searched for where we were supposed to stay (Site 2). After 30 minutes of both parties searching on foot, we finally found it. Then came the arduous process of packing up all our belongings at Site 1 and hauling them to Site 2 - again; in the middle of the night. The hosts followed up on this catastrophe by initially blaming us for getting the directions wrong and then telling Hipcamp to deny us a refund.

Big Cedar Camp Bluff Tent
Hubby and I with our two and a half year old loved it here. Nights were peaceful and quiet with just the bullfrogs and the owls for music. The shower was amazing - especially if your partner or traveling companion gets the woodstove going back at the tent while you're in it. A favorite memory for life will be combing my daughter's hair and eating grilled steaks by the woodstove after a magical shower. Barbecue worked great and was wonderful for a variety of meals with the side burner. Didn't get to enjoy the fire pit as their were signs posted on the way into town about a burn ban but it would be wonderful I imagine if we had the chance. Location was amazing. Felt very isolated but short drives from beaches and the Goose grocery store in town was excellent. The bed was a touch hard for our taste but the bedding was amazing and there was plenty of room for the three of us. They provided a cot for our little one which made a nice place to sit inside the tent in the evenings. The towels were a really nice touch. Water lasted the entire four days we were there and the cooler did a good job. The lights made the atmosphere so beautiful and made walking to the outhouse at night lovely. The outhouse smelled of cedar and had a view of the forest and was very clean. Nature preserve nextdoor was a deeply moving experience where babygirl and I were able to connect with our recently discovered indigenous heritage.
