Lazy days on the New
This is a very pleasant stretch of the New River.
We had two dogs, two kids and two adults for a few days camping on the river.
John is a friendly host who was very helpful to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.

We had a great night at Johns campsite! The view was gorgeous. It’s a private site but they were right over the hill if we needed anything. We will definitely be back!

New River peacefulness!
John's campground is located on one of the prettiest parts of the New River. Each site has river front perfect for fishing, kayaking, swimming or just enjoying a quiet, peaceful camping experience. The campsite had everything you needed. John and Sherri were great hosts that greeted us upon check in and check out. We will definitely go back and this could be possibly one of our favorite places.

Tent Camping as it Should Be
John and his wife were absolutely great. If you needed something they were very responsive and helpful and if not they didn't bother us at all. His shower set up is rustic but wonderful. Hot water as long as you want. Now for the site, we were right on the river under some trees and it is perfect. Quiet and peaceful and will absolutely stay again. We had our dogs and they had a wonderful time and they were welcomed just like they were our kids. He kept plenty of wood, kayaks were so much fun and he doesn't charge an ungodly price. We can't say enough good things about this place, well maintained, next to river, dogs vertical welcome, GREAT shower and absolutely perfect host. Will be staying again in a few weeks so guys if you want a quiet place by the river then this is it. Water was 2-6' deep depending on were we were at
Kids wouldn't have any issue here. This is tent camping at its best. If you don't try this spot you're missing something special with some great campground owners/hosts. 5 stars all the way
