I've had this land since King George sold it to me in 2005. Over the years, I've lived here more and more, building a studio and a house. I am a potter that works from home, accompanied by my valiant and loyal pack of beasties. My land is RIGHT next to the Renaissance Festival. Learn more about this land: I have a big RV spot with 30a hookup. Lots of tent camping wherever you like--you can run an extension cord to your tent. I have a cute private outdoor shower with hot/cold sink adjacent. Clean, nice, regularly-seviced porta-potty (exclusively for hipcampers--i have my own). Lake Conroe is @ 20 miles away with all manner of water sports. Kayaking spots nearby as well. 45 minutes away Houston.

Hermits' Cove
Lovely time camping here. Jonathan was very helpful and kind. The gas station we stopped at on the way was out of firewood, and when we arrived without wood Jonathan allowed us to gather deadwood on his property, and even provided us with loppers to cut pieces up. We found plenty of wood and had a very fun fire going every day we were there. We chose to stay in the more remote of the two sites and it was comfortable and private. Hose running out to the site provided us water for dishwashing, fire dousing, and cleaning up. It was also easy to get over to the toilet/sink/shower area. Overall it was a great weekend getaway in the country and we had a really nice time.

Jonathan was a super nice guy and offered us his fire pit. We had a problem with the care and upkeep of the campsite. We stayed at site 2. The road to the site was somewhat cleared out but not enough. My truck and camper were rubbing against the bushes coming in and out. The campsite itself had low hanging limbs. My wife stepped on a screw that went through her shoe. We moved several boards with nails sticking out. I get home and put up the camper to find out the tire is flat and has a screw in it. A little more care of the campsite is what I am used to. Needless to say I will not be staying here again.

Johnathan was so nice and helpful. He knew I had a torn meniscus in my knee and gathered firewood and kindling for me and found a betterchair for me to sit in! I think he would have done it anyway.😊 My dog Gracie absolutely loved him. She usually warms up slow to people but right away she was wagging that tail and smiling🐕🐾 For me.. that says a lot about a person's character and energy in general. That they can be trusted. I would highly recommend camping at Hermits cove!

One happy camper
Very chill! A great little hidden treasure with a unique atmosphere. I brought a small child and a medium kid and they both had such a lovely time. Great vibes for doggies. Jonathan is more than accommodating and a very friendly host, he even brought us some firewood. We stayed at a primitive site but there’s a faucet just up the drive and an outlet where we could plug in extension cords. Definitely choose the add-on option for pottery at check out- there were so many beautiful pieces to choose from. Bird songs, wind dancing through the trees, and clear starry skies…recipe for a successful day trip out of the city for real.

Excellent camp site
We enjoyed our weekend here. Jonathan was very accommodating, attentive and friendly. He has lots of space, a kitchen area and most importantly a shower with hot water!! It is a great outdoor experience. Our family had an amazing time even though it rained for a few hours we were able to have an amazing time. We will totally be back.
