Park rangers lead historic talks and guided hikes at Goliad, which also offers spacious, pet-friendly camping. Hipcampers will enjoy fishing, a hiking and biking trail, and launching kayaks and canoes to paddle the six miles of Goliad Paddling Trail on the San Antonio River. Nearby is the birthplace of General Ignacio Zaragoza, the Mexican general who led the charge against French troops on what is now celebrated as Cinco de Mayo. Goliad State Park is located two hours southeast of San Antonio and within an hour’s drive of the Texas Gulf Coast. Pets are allowed.
