Primitive camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Spacious trails through acres of natural and managed forest. Pond stocked with catfish and I think blue gill or? Couple turtles also live in this main half acres pond. Bare cabin available with power for cell phones. If you can get a signal. T-Mobile works up top. Secluded camping in the woods or under the stars. Plenty to forage. Chickens, goats and turkey live with a few other animals. They can be noisy periodically.Price includes foraging permission for anything except wild ginger. Mushrooms, fruit, berries, plants, catfish, bluegill & more. You'll never forget this camping trip. Small to medium-sized vehicles and trucks. Due to the narrow road and entrance. You can camp by the pond or anywhere on top of the 300' hill. The hike up the hill has two paths. A gravel road or the adventurer's route. You can catch and release fish at the stocked pond or hike any of the trails that span the property in each direction. Fishing for consumption is permitted on a limited basis for an additional fee. There are a couple of nice clearings up top and in the woods. Several sites to choose from. You could spend a week here sleeping in a different place each night. We offer various stages of forest. Mature woods as well as new prairie. There are old hard wood and pine. Plenty of firewood around for your campfire. Your firewood collecting is your responsibility. Camping is bring your own everything. This is CAMPING not RV parking. Though we do have room for one small camper but it's enter at your own risk with the tree branches and driveway. Cars and trucks, no problem. 4x4 is ideal. Parking is at the first landing. Hiking is on your own. Rides might be available for gratuity. The little mountain is quite steep and hard on these vehicles. Your vehicle is not covered to drive up this mountain. Sorry and thanks for understanding. This is a working homestead and farm. This means there are sounds and noises from tractors, machines and animals. Most of the time it's tranquil but, serenity is your responsibility. We have goats, chicken, dogs, turkey and a parrot. The goats love attention. You are welcome and invited to take part in as much of our daily lives, chores and projects as you like. Ie: pet the goats or feed the chickens, fix the plumbing, or just go camp and only see us at check-in. This is a true slice of Tennessee. Bring your tent and enjoy nature. https://youtu.be/C5MCi6AShCg You'll have the run of 45 acres of East Tennessee Appalachian ridge. We have springs, creeks, ponds, woods and wilderness. Test your camping skills by selecting and erecting your own shelter, wherever you like.

Something for Everyone
What an amazing property! The hosting couple is very accommodating. They showed us all the camp site options (there is really a site for whatever you’re looking for…pond, mountain top, wooded…all primitive) and allowed us to set up wherever we wanted. “Up top” requires a 4-wheel drive vehicle to access but they offered to take us up if we wanted. We took them up on the offer to see the amazing Mountain View’s but opted not to set up there as we wanted easy access to our wimpy vehicle. They even invited us to come visit their animals and socialize at their homestead site (out of view from the camping areas) if we wanted. We had a long travel day so we declined but they were very fun and interesting people and we hope to cross paths with them again.
