The farm was once a portion of the McTureus Plantation.  Tony's family members were once enslaved on the plantation. Upon Emancipation a family member bought land and it remained in the family.  Tony is a descendant of those family members whose foresight allowed us to be here today.  Tony's parents entrusted the care and preservation of the property to us and we are doing our best to be good stewards and teach the value of this property to our children and young grandchildren.  Visit our farm and feel ocean breezes, smell the salty air, hear the calls of owls, doves, and our ‘friendly fowl’, turkeys, ducks, geese and chickens.    We are Tony and Belinda Jones of Morning Glory Homestead, a small, 12.4 acre, sustainable farm.   We returned to our family property to raise our five children and begin farming after Tony served 20 years in the military.  We are nestled in a beautiful, subtropical, wooded area filled with Live and Water Oaks draped with moss, tall Loblolly Pines, magnificent glossy Magnolias, American Sweet Gum trees and fragrant Wax Myrtles.  Our farm is on a tract of land that was at one time the McTureus Plantation, later bought by the Coffin Family and is a short drive to Coffin Point Plantation.  Currently, we offer two sites. One is nearer the farm house and our field while the other is along the trail deeper in the woods.   The beach at Hunting Island State Park is only 5 miles away and there are wildlife viewing areas and boat landings all around the island.  The Lowcountry is great for water sports, kayaking, boating, jet skiing, sailing and canoeing.  Each season offers an opportunity to participate in fishing, crabbing, shrimping or digging for oysters in local waters.  Explore the waters of the ACE (Ashepoo, Combahee and Edisto)  Basin, the Port Royal Sound which is the estuary of bodies of water including the Broad and the Beaufort Rivers.  Our area is a favorite of cyclist groups, the long, flat, rural, scenic, roads offer pleasant riding experiences for cyclist of all ability levels.  There are bike lanes on many of the major roads.  These roads double as great areas for hikers to explore the local historical buildings, flora and fauna.  Other recreational activities in our area are geocaching, horseback riding, tennis, golf, rock climbing wall, beach volleyball, beachcombing, and birdwatching. While here you can enjoy historical tours of Beaufort County’s earliest years of the Santa Helena colony in the mid 1600’s, the revolutionary war period, the pre-civil war and plantation time period and the antebellum, reconstruction history up to the Civil Rights visits of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the Historic Penn Center.  In January 2017, several historical locations in Beaufort County were established as the Reconstruction Era National Monument to include Darrah Hall on the Penn Center Campus, Brick Baptist Church both on St. Helena Island only a few miles from our farm.      It’s hard to say when is the best time of year to visit.  There are a few special events throughout the year, Gullah Festival-May, Water Festival-July, Shrimp Festival-October, Beaufort Food Truck Festival-October, Soft Shell Crab Festival-April, Pat Conroy Festival-November, Heritage Days Festival-November, Night on the Town-December.  There’s something for everyone.

Amazing Property and Hosts
We LOVED our stay on Belinda's property. Belinda was ab awesome host. We felt more like we were visiting friends than sleeping on a stranger's property! We added the firewood bundle, eggs, cinnamon rolls, and a farm tour. A week later and our kids still randomly talk about Ms. Belinda and her animals! The site was perfect and fit our needs well. We car camped (slept in the cars) since we were only staying one night as a stopover on a long road trip. The bathroom and shower tents were welcomed luxuries! We will definitely be back!

Amazing spot on the sea islands
Camping for a night tucked away under the live oaks on a sea island is amazing. Feel the sea breeze. Quiet, peaceful, and private, with interesting animals to see on the farm. Everything was as advertised and better. Had a great night, would recommend!

Camping and Cinnamon Rolls
My wife and I enjoyed every minute of our stay at Tony and Belinda’s farm. The camp site was nestled in a clearing surrounded by beautiful 100 year old oak trees. We loved the frequent visits from the cutest ducks, chickens, and turkeys. Yet the absolute HIGHLIGHT of the stay was biting into the single most delicious cinnamon rolls we have ever eaten. We will be dreaming about how tasty they were for years to come. If you stay here, you simply have to get the cinnamon rolls!

Good hip camp!
I have a good stay at this hipcamp. I just stayed for one night. It’s a nice space I got a chance to meet Belinda’s husband. It was a last-minute reservation and they were very accommodating.

Friendly Fowl Farm
I really enjoyed my stay here! I was at campsite #1 and felt like I had privacy and a good amount of space to spread out. I loved hearing the sounds of the fowl. Belinda and Tony were so lovely & I highly recommend doing the farm tour. Very close to Hunting Island State Park & Beaufort. I would definitely come back!
