Family-friendly
Recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp is great for families and kids.
This property existed as a farm prior to the Civil War. The house building is stone and the old horse barns are a little worn. Clean, friendly and very secure site. The stone building has an old school bell on top and may have been a school at one time. Otherwise the history has been lost ... The property has nice open and shaded places to wander. Access to small pond and creek. There are fossils in the limestone by the pond. Feel free to collect! Learn more about this land: The site offers a quiet, secure and private location for your campsite. It is currently only one private campsite site offering an electric hook-up. The farm is located one block off the main road and is 12 minutes from the Gettysburg Battlefield and Visitor Center. There are two old barns next to the site and a pre-Civil War stone house. Site is a few minutes from amenities such as gas stations, restaurants, fast food, supermarket, etc.

farm near Gettysburg on pasture
Nice spot, electrical worked well. Similar to other reviewers, it was a little confusing knowing which spot was which and it turned out someone was already in the spot we were supposed to camp in, but it turned out ok we could still reach the electric and had a great time. There are a couple open fields right next to the sites and the neighbor has farm animals (horses, goat, sheep, llama, even an emu!) and our kids loved seeing them. Kids had a great time running around and it was SO convenient to Gettysburg which is what we were in town to visit. My husband loved everything about this place. Would recommend.

No complaints here. It was exactly how it was explained. I only needed to reach out to James one time and he was quick to respond and very helpful.

Site 3 - Private Farm Near Gettysburg
Convenient to Gettysburg
Three campers traveling together pulled in at dusk and stayed three nights. We weren’t sure where to park, and the directions the host gave us weren’t clear as he mentioned orange cones but there were none. We tried to contact him but got no response. There was plenty of space to park. Electricity and water were available but not in convenient spots. The grass was very long so we had wet shoes and a wet dog after going out in the morning. It was convenient to the sites at Gettysburg. There were four dogs next door that barked at us but they were behind a fence and friendly. The location was very quiet at night.

Site 1 - Private Farm Near Gettysburg
Great location for Gettysburg touring. Biggest downside was the grass needed to be mowed.

Site 2. under and around tree
We enjoyed our stay, quiet and close to Gettysburg. Our group reserved all 3 sites which worked OK to treat the area as a group site. The sites are pretty close together. Did not like that the listing indicates electric hookup at Site 2 available, but is effectively unusable at > 100 ft away. Grassy areas had not been mowed recently and were long enough that wet jeans were unavoidable mornings with heavy dew. It was confusing to us at first where the sites are since there are no markings, signs or even the orange cones that the listing mentions. We reached out to the owner with questions but received no response.
