Tannenbehm and two of the surrounding properties have been developed and cared for by our family for generations. We have enjoyed the peace and tranquility of these woods in the foothills of the Blue Mountains in northern Berks County and would now like to share that quiet sanctuary with others who appreciate the rejuvenating quality that only a refreshing night or two in the woods can provide.
Our guests can expect a relaxing stay with views of ponds, distant mountains, and surrounding woods. Watch for redtail and Coopers hawks, hear at least two kinds of woodpeckers, and maybe get a visit from some neighborhood deer. Don't be surprised if you hear a fisher calling, owls hooting, or some coyotes howling at night.
The country roads in the surrounding area make great routes for morning walks and biking. Our location is just a few minutes drive from Appalachian Trail access, and just a few miles from fishing, swimming, and boating in Blue Marsh Lake. Cabela's is an easy 12 minute drive, and two dairies are within 20 minutes for those who like fine ice cream and other country-made treats.
Guests will enjoy their own quiet corner of woods with access to paddle boating in good weather.
Meals can be provided per private agreement upon request if arranged in advance - email us for options so we can accommodate your needs!
