Dragonfly Cottage

3 sites · Lodging14 acres · Rock Elm, NS
Get away from it all, a very quiet cabin in the woods. A great place to decompress and enjoy some time away. The property is left natural and has an apple tree and berries can be found around the area. Excellent high speed internet now available. There is an area to hook up a camper that provides water, power and sewer. Cape Breton Regional Municipality has recently implemented a 3% “Marketing Levy”, charged to our guests and used to fund a failing tourism website. Local hosts are not pleased about this. There are already a lot of extra fees with each guest booking and we understand the added frustration this brings. If you would like to join our voices and give feedback, you are welcome to email our mayor Amanda McDougall at mayor@cbrm.ns.ca and councilor for our area, Steve Parsons at steveparsons@eskasoni.ca

Fred's Place

4 sites · Tents2 acres · Baddeck, NS
2.3 acres of woodlot at the end of the road. Very rustic. Ideal for campers and bicycle campers. Very few facilities but you can put up a tent and have a fire. It's super quiet and the only sound is the wind and the very occasional car (like one a day). Five minute walk to the ocean. 15 kms to the nearest store. I will be at my cabin but the property is large enuf for you to have total privacy if you want it. I can be reached by email at frederick.gardiner123abc@gmail.com. I'm located at the end of Richard's Pond Lane. To get here, go to South Side Road, South Side River Bourgeois. Turn right on Richard's Pond Lane and follow it to the end. Turn right, go to the first sign that says 7/8 and follow the path up to my cabin. There is red tuck tape to show the way. On the map, I am not The Cuffs, but the location is the same.

Perfect for people looking to rough it. excellent for hunting and fishing groups. The home has all the modern amenities such as electricity, running water, hot water, full bathroom (no shower just a tub), no washer or dryer, unlimited high speed wifi, one 42” smart TV with Netflix, Prime and Paramount streaming services in main living room. Guests looking for a more refined experience are encouraged not to book the property. Walk out dock for our guests to launch the kayaks from or to go swimming. The property is also located just five minutes away from the Dundee Golf Resort and is just one hour away from the world famous Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs golf resort. The property is ideal for a foursome or eight-some golf group looking to take in Cape Breton Golf. We want to stress that the property is rough and it should not be booked if your looking for perfectly clean polished look inside, it’s smells like an old house, and always looks like it’s dusty and dirty because of the all wood floors and keeping its original 150 year old interior. Our linens / towels / face cloths / dish clothes are fresh and clean with every stay.

Live Life In Tents Campground

14 sites · Lodging100 acres · Baddeck, NS
This was one of the original homesteads in the Margarees. There was an old sawmill on site which was used to build the house and barn. It was sold to a man who started renovations for a summer house but ended up listing for sale about 8 years ago. I purchased it 4 years ago and completely renovated the 100-year-old house. 2 years ago my brother and I started an outfitting company with no plan of building a campground but in 2017 we saw a great opportunity for building something unique. We wanted to keep a backwoods camping feel but yet create it around a hostel-inspired environment. We launched June 1, 2018 and are in full swing now. We look forward to meeting you and will help you out in any way to make your trip here something to remember. Adventure awaits at this eco-camping hostel offering a natural setting, overlooking a picturesque valley. This location offers close to off-grid camping with a twist of comfort; furnished Glamping tents, sleeping up to 4 people per tent on a queen bed with twin camping beds for extra guests. Cooking gear, bedding, and towels are provided. Each tent, located at this eco-hostel, has its own campfire pit, with a solar outdoor shower on site and beautiful views of the river valley.
