Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
The Ponderosa is situated on an acre or land with beautiful views of the Cumberland Mountains, with local saw mills and cattle grazing. We are 7 miles from one of the best off road parks called Wind Rock off Road Park. This is a great area for motorcycle rides, terrain variety from challenging off road to technical scenic cruising on the Devils Triangle or leisurely touring. Nearby is Frozen Head State Park, a great place to hike and see the best wildlife. The Smokey Mountains are just a drive away and you will be captivated by its amazing beauty. We are about 10 miles from Oak Ridge were shopping and restaurants are located. Fishing, boating and dining are available on Melton Head Lake in oak ridge or in the large rivers in Harriman. If you’re looking for a place to park with lots of outdoor activities The Fairview Ponderosa is the place to overland or camp with a fire pit and open areas to park. This area is a cleared grass yard with great views of mountain peaks and a valley, surrounded by nature. The lower area is flat and the upper area has a slope. There is an operating sawmill nearby you will see log trucks. Do not drive or park 30 feet from the old house, there is a septic system. Camp or RTT any where you feel comfortable. There is a fire pit in front of the red building. Please keep the white chain up on driveway when out for the day. Steer and cattle will be close to the fence at times do not pet or feed them. Across the Street is a cool stream to hike. There is a street light down the street which provides some light at night. Star gazing is terrific.
