Remote wilderness camping 🏕 - db75
Enjoyed the stay, but lots of ATVs
This campsite is at the Narrow Gauge Riders ATV club picnic area & shed, at the corner of a junction of several ATV trails - and they were used heavily throughout the day during my stay. If you’re into ATVing, this is the site for you! Direct out of your tent access to trails, ample grassy areas to park and move trailers, a hut to escape rain, and fellow ATVers cruising by. The site and camp are as described, but for me just not as remote wilderness sounding & feeling as I had hoped. There was a bustle of activity throughout the day, not only ATVers but others at permanent camps or tree harvesting sites nearby. Things quieted down by around 9 PM, and it was a peaceful wilderness-like night after that and the star gazing was simply amazing. Just FYI… there’s a charcoal grill and fireplace on site, but no racks to cook on, so bring ur own. And, you’ll definitely want a vehicle with good clearance for the approx. 2-mile ride in on the 2-track roads.

Quiet, secluded space. Easy drive to Carrabassett Valley and Mt. Blue State Park. Rained part of the first day and having the shelter is really convenient.

Cushing’s cushy Camp 🏡
Cushing's camp was a perfect weekend getaway. Nestled in the Western Foothills of Maine. We found much needed rest sitting on the front porch overlooking a mountain stream. Lorraine, the host was exceptional. The camp is a definite must see and we will be going back again.

Great camp! Quiet, remote spot overlooking the bend in the stream. Kid-friendly and perfect location for exploring the area. Fun loft sleeps a bunch of folks, and kitchen has pretty much everything! Responsive hosts.

Cushing’s cushy Camp 🏡
Lorraine and her husband's place was spectacular. The brook was very nice to swim and have lunch. It was quite and beautiful. There was tons of space for my family and my 2 dogs. It a great getaway to Maine. Lorraine was a great host and we had a great time. I would give them 10 stars. Thank you for letting us stay and looking forward to the next time we come up.

Cushing’s cushy Camp 🏡
We enjoyed every minute of our time here! The setting is delightfully remote--it felt like we were alone in the world! The brook on the property is beautiful, and a perfect place to wade and for the kids to swim. Lorraine and Rich were incredibly helpful in making sure we had all we needed and more. A wonderful wild Maine experience with lots of conveniences and comforts.
