When to Go
Unicoi State Park is open to visitors year-round, but some activities may only have seasonal availability, such as boat rentals (March to September). For camping-meets-culture, time your visit with one of Unicoi’s annual events such as the Fireside Arts & Crafts Show on President’s Day Weekend, or Oktoberfest and the Mountain Bluegrass Festival every fall. Avoid crowds by scheduling a mid-week visit.
Know Before You Go
- All sites have water and electric hookups, as well as a table, fire ring and grate.

At Unicoi State Park, it couldn’t be easier to get out and explore. Paved trails, dog-friendly hiking, and a wide range of camping experiences make Unicoi accessible to most explorers, without detracting from this park’s natural beauty. Trek to Anna Ruby falls, swim or fish at Unicoi Lake, or even take the short drive to explore the Bavarian-style alpine town of Helen, just minutes down the road. If you’re looking for more activities, head to Unicoi Lodge, where you can sign up for the archery range, fly fishing classes, guided nature hikes, an aerial zipline tour, and much more.
