100% of recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp felt private.
The property is 45 minutes south of Denver on 285 and about 4 miles off of 285. There is a gas station and Dollar General at the intersection of 285. The property sits on 5 acres set back off of the road. Surrounded by trees and natural rock formations. Our house is also on the property but you will have plenty of privacy. Great views of Pikes Peek. Nearby fishing in world class water. 30 inch fish typically caught. Near by hiking. Bear by off roading. Near by rock crawling. Near by hot tub.Pitch your tent nestled in the pine trees. You will be secluded, neighbors aren't that close but you will have deer coming for a visit. Very quite and tranquil. If you are interested in IPA's Mad Jack's Mountain Brewery is minutes away. Slaughter House is further up CR 43 if you are interested in trail riding or off roading. The best fishing in the state of colorado is near in the town of Bailey. Fine dining is also a short drive away. From the camp sight or ontop of the rocks a view of Pikes Peek is breath taking. Sleek to your host for more info and please stay on property. I

Highboy Ranch Tent/Small RV camping
Beautiful place to rough it
Larry was a friendly host! Things to know before you go: *The scenery is beautiful. *Driveway to the house and down to site is unpaved and steep. *The site is small with a cliff rising on one side and a drop off on the other, so the turnaround space is small. *Toilet is a camp toilet in a tent. *Shower is a solar shower that you have to request. *Water (hot and cold) is at host's outdoor spigot not at site.

Highboy Ranch Tent/Small RV camping
Perfect for a tent but NOT trailer
This was my first attempt at using Hipcap. Prior to booking I sent messages to the host: A. Wanting to ensure a shower would be available B. There would be no issue getting our camper into/out of the location. (we have a 18ft Aliner) Prior to arriving I sent a text letting him know what time the GPS had us arriving. Once we arrived I walked up to the home which was surrounded by older 1980 Ford trucks in different levels of completion. (not a problem) We called, texted, knocked on the door.... no response. At this point we walked the property trying to understand where we'd be able to set up. We ended up finding a small road that ultimately led us to a flat spot that had a toilet inside a plastic tent. The area was private but there was no way I could see someone getting a camper in and then out. This should be advertised as TENT only with a toilet. We didn't end up staying for any of the time booked and ultimately we've never heard from him to rectify the situation. I feel very deceived and feel that Hipcamp should offer users some ability to contact them directly when there is a problem vs sending a email then having to sit and wait for someone to get around to you.

Camping at Larry’s was a blast! The views were amazing and it was close to many hiking trails, waterfalls and a cute little town. The town, Bailey, had an event called Bailey days which was very cool! He was very hospitable and even taught us how to work different machinery! He also took us on a ride in his Bronco to do some short rock crawling on his property, he then let us drive his razor and invited us over for dinner. He was extremely nice and made our trip a blast.
