At Willow Springs Lodge & Retreat Center we are all about hosting groups for retreats, family reunions, life celebrations and friends and family gatherings and more. We cater to fostering experiences where people come together and create lasting memories. Located just 15 miles outside Nevada City in the foothills of the Tahoe National Forest, Willow Springs is ideal for intimate gatherings for groups wanting to get away and "un-plug". We are blessed to be within minutes of many renown Yuba River swimming holes and breathtaking trails for hiking and biking. Nearby Bullards Bar Reservoir is a popular lake for boating, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, water skiing and more. In the winter, we are close to a number of ski resorts and winter sports activities. Our completely fenced Group Camping Area on top of a knoll with breathtaking views offers eight plus camping sites and accommodates up to 32 campers. An 18 foot long banquet table and benches is ideal for group meals. The oversized fire pit can seat your entire group. Dogs are permitted (with strict rules) within the fenced camping area. Included in the rental of the campground is the use of the community Kitchen and Bathhouse. The kitchen is equipped with two refrigerators, a stovetop and oven, BBQ, pots/pans and dishes (plates, bowls, cups, silverware) that serve 30. The triple sink makes clean-up easy. The bathhouse has two private showers, two private toilets and a double sink. Bring your own towels and toiletries. Outside the Group Camping Area are multiple RV sites from partial to full hookup. A furnished yurt and tent platform with two dome tents are also available to rent. Within walking distance, we offer several 1 bedroom/1 bathroom cabins with propane heat and AC. THESE CAN BE ADDED AS EXTRAS AT THE TIME OF BOOKING! A short walk to our newly renovated lodge fills the needs of those that want a little more pampering. The lodge accommodates up to 20 people with a commercial-style kitchen that can feed up to 50 people comfortably. Private Queen suites are available. The upstairs is a favorite of our kids with plenty of beds for an awesome sleep over. When you rent the lodge, to compliment your experience, we have a 1000 sq. ft. yoga studio (used for movement, meditation, and classes), a 1700 sq. ft. open-air pavilion (receptions, presentations, musical presentations) and a celebration terrace for weddings and life events worth celebrating. Our exterior wet bar is equipped to serve your favorite beverage on a warm summer day or under the stars in the cool of the night next to the open-air bon fire. Group Camping Compound fo

Wanted to leave a review for future campers. This place was a very safe residence, the camping ground was fenced which made it safe since we took kids they wouldn’t be able to wonder away.Our party was 22 people and we all very much enjoyed this place. This place did have a kitchen and utensils and refrigerator to keep food and restrooms right next door. The hosts were very kind to amend to our needs, they did meet up with us to show us the area when we first arrived and checked up on us here and there to see how we were doing. There is a lake called Oregon creek that we did visit it’s a 10 minute drive from the residence and the lake was very beautiful and kid friendly. We really recommend this place.

Group camping with family

We absolutely loved staying the weekend group camping! Mark and Patricia are great hosts and are quick to respond with any questions or concerns before and during your stay. We originally planned to have 34 guests total, but ended up with 28 people altogether and 4 dogs. Plans changed for some family and friends who had to cancel, but we were able to add dogs. This campsite could've fit our original head count and more! It has everything from campfire, big family tables to fully equipped kitchen and bathrooms. (Check out their website for pictures) Did I mention you can enjoy the surrounding area and there are rivers and creeks close by! This is a great place for big groups and would recommend to anyone who loves camping with friends, family and pets!

Hilltop Camping

Mark & Patricia have really set up a nice spot for spending time around a campfire, with the amenities of the civilized world. Sitting around the campfire was my favorite part. The view to the north and west over the valley were stunning during dusk and looking up through the circle of trees at the stars was incredible. The loading and unloading setup is well done and orderly. Their dogs are very friendly. Mark came over once a day to check on how we’re were doing. This is a great spot for a camp that you can have all to yourself and your camping neighbors are all friends and family. I highly recommend the experience!
