Welcome to Red Tail Ranch (newly listed on Hipcamp), a stunning 90 acre property in the Sierra Nevada foothills, just 25 minutes from the Yosemite entrance gate. Among the oak woodlands, meadows and coniferous forest, there are numerous trails to explore the property and direct riding access to a developed mountain biking area nearby. Great birding, botanizing and wildlife watching opportunities abound. Use Red Tail Ranch as an ideal launching off point for Yosemite or stay on the property and enjoy all that it has to offer. We have RV sites with hookups, a four site drive-in campground and two walk-in campsites- all with clean, flush toilet bathrooms, hot outdoor showers, indoor camp kitchen and gathering space. Whether your pitching a tent, parking a campervan or rv, there are opportunities for everyone. We are 10 minutes from the small town of Groveland with a market and restaurants and just down the road from the put in for rafting on the Tuolumne river. Our pricing is a little higher than other places nearby and this is due to the property's great locations, incredible beauty, and all of the amenities added for a great experience.

Pine Siskin camp

Great base to explore Yosemite!

Great location about 30mins from the Yosemite entrance and close to nearby town for thinks like groceries, gas and bars. Robb provided clear directions so we were able to find the site and pitch in the dark and when we explored in the daylight next morning found a useful kitchen hut with sink and lights, showers and clean toilets. The site has some great views out and was fun the explore. We stayed for two nights and had a wonderful time!

Lupine Walk-in camp

gorgeous campsite and friendly host

such a pretty campsite! the walk in sites were in the middle of a meadow with a nice view. we went in mid april and had the place entirely to ourselves - the dream! facilities such as the kitchen and bathrooms were also nice, although a bit farther from the walk in sites. Robb was super helpful in giving us thorough instructions and even went out of his way to help us warm and dry when we received some unexpected snow during our stay.

Headwaters RV #1

We loved camping on Robb's ranch! The property was gorgeous, with several trails through the meadows (which happened to be in bloom when we arrived). We were pleasantly surprised at having excellent full hook up connections for our 30' trailer. The proximity to Yosemite (about 25 miles from the village, along a beautiful drive) meant we were close enough to explore the park but also for away enough to enjoy the tranquility of Robb's property. Robb was an excellent host- quick to respond to any questions. We would definitely stay again!

Nice set up w/ easy hookups & a wooden deck that made the space even more comfortable & user friendly. Nice bathrooms. Rustic showers but w/ lots of hot water.

Beautiful secluded property

We loved camping at Headwaters RV1. The property is huge, secluded, quiey, serene, and beautiful. It even has hiking trails. Robb reached out to us daily to ensure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The hookups were conveniently located, and there is a barn facility with tables and chairs, showers, and impeccably clean bathrooms. I highly recommend this property.
