Discover the allure of Crowley Lake's outdoor adventures. Â
Lake Crowley is best known for its rock formations, the Crowley Lake Stone Columns. After the reservoir was completed strange objects began appearing on the lakes shores. As the softer rock surrounding the columns eroded away what was left is truly a sight to see. Just outside of both the Inyo and Sierra National Forests, you can see these 20-foot marvels.
The prime time to visit Crowley Lake is during the warmer months, from late spring to early fall, when the weather is ideal for outdoor activities. Winter can be harsh, with road closures and snow, making access challenging.
