Geronimo Cabin, eco-preserve
It was beautiful don't get me wrong but it was not clean the sheets were dirty the floors were clean, the kitchen was not stocked. You do not have electricity like they say. The cabins are right next door like you live in the city, there were no curtains on the bedroom windows, there is no heat other than the wood stove. we got there to an ice cold cabin. We were then upgraded to a different cabin when we were told to go into our cabin which which was the Geronimo I thought they were being nice. I don't think they were prepared for the cabin we were supposed to be in, so they put us in a bigger one. I did not care for it. As we were packing up our stuff to move to the other cabin I noticed that all three cabins were right next door to each other like you live in the city, which was upsetting because we came from the city to go into a nicer area. not right next door to Everybody! We were told that we had a bathroom with our own private tub shower sink and toilet bathroom, not true we had an out house. no heat in this one as well no electricity we could only plug one thing in at a time don't get me wrong they were very nice men it was just and we were told there was a big bear running around and broke into a cabin so to be very careful we were totally and completely misled we left the same night we got there. Very disappointed, we saved up too take this trip only to be let down I was very disappointed I would not recommend this place.

Shamballa Cabin, eco-preserve
The Cabin we stayed in was really spacious! Also we were welcomed and showed Round then never saw anyone else the rest of the trip. The option to ask any questions to the host was always available since they said to just walk over to their home which wasn’t far at all. The stay felt very private but we knew we could always contact the host. So much beautiful snow, would like to visit in summer as well.

Serenity Cabin
Perfect for the 'gram and your soul
Stepping into Serenity Cabin is like pressing pause on life's fast-forward button. This eco-friendly retreat is off-grid, with solar power for that essential phone charge but no plumbing—so prep for a short walk to commune with nature when nature calls. The vibe is pure millennial minimalism meets backcountry chic; think sipping pour-over coffee on the porch rather than scrolling through feeds. The wood stove is your cozy BFF, and while the outhouse is a throwback, it's all part of the charm. It's a digital detox with a side of starry skies and the must-have experience of kindling your own fire. Perfect for the 'gram and your soul

Maidu Park Campground
We did some tent camping and had most of the grounds to ourselves, was lovely. The sites are pretty spread out, the way I like to see campgrounds, some of them pretty deep into the property. We were greeted on arrival, and communication was great. They have some cabins we will probably go back to checkout, but for this trip I just wanted to camp with my son. One thing to note, mosquitos up there are a thing, so definitely bring bug spray. Overall had an amazing time, it was beautiful, grounds are well maintained, trails all over to walk around, and lots of cool stuff to do in that area. We will be back.

Serenity Cabin
Adam and the cabin were awesome. His communication before our arrival was excellent and his hospitality was even better. He had ideas for things to do, places to eat and spots to swim in the Yuba. We can’t wait to go back.

Shamballa Cabin, eco-preserve
Honestly, beautiful area. Nice host. Overall cottage was nice but it was overpriced (@ $300/night) for the quality and attention to detail. We think $150-$200/max is more aligned to the space.
