The park was built in 2012 and owned by a family of avid fishermen, who now live in Rockport and enjoy their careen as guides. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Nueces Paddling Trail is about a quarter mile up river from the park and features a public boat ramp. The terrain along the river has some nice rolling hills and nature lovers will appreciate the wildlife in the area.
