Camping near Cavalier

Icelandic State Park is a top spot to celebrate the scenery and early settlers, featuring recreation on the shores and waters of Lake Renwick and the Tongue River. A drive along the Rendezvous Region Scenic Backway, which runs from Cavalier to Vang, takes you to scenic outlooks along the Pembina Gorge, the state’s steepest valley. Stop by Pembina Gorge State Recreation Area to find hiking, kayaking, and more. RV and tent camping sites may be few and far between in this remote region. Icelandic State Park offers over 150 spots in maintained campgrounds with both tent and RV campsites. Cabin rentals are also available.
