Willoughby Farm Animal Rescue
8 units · Glamping, Motorhomes, Tents107 acres · Fairlee, VermontWe are a 107-acre forest and farm animal rescue. Sleep with the sheep, alpacas, donkeys, potbellied pigs, and rabbits when you pitch your tent or park your camper on our Vermont Farm! Reserve the group site and sleep in the middle of the action! Co-located in the open, grassy area with the free-roaming farm rescues is our RV site. Co-located sites share a community fire ring so it's a great way to meet and make new friends! Don't have a tent or RV? Spend a magical night in "The Greenhouse" (it's a real, working, greenhouse that doubles as accommodations for those looking for a more "glamping" experience). Want a little privacy? Reserve one of our two tricked-out Tent Deck sites, (Buddha North & Grandmother Pine) each with its own picnic table, private fire ring, and commercial-grade park grill. Nestled, discretely in the forest adjacent to the area where the animals are, you will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere even though you are less than a 5-minute walk from your car! Looking for something a bit more remote and spectacular? Hike a half-mile to the Big Sky Tent Deck. An incredible vista awaits you for just a little effort! We are a small non-profit (501c3). When you stay with us, rent equipment from us, or take a tour with us, 100% of money you pay goes directly for the care and feeding of the rescue animals. Thanks for supporting us in making a difference in the lives of neglected, abused, and abandoned farm animals! ----- NOTICE: PROOF OF COVID-19 VACCINATION STATUS IS REQUIRED. Please be prepared to show your vaccination card or a digital copy of your vaccination card when you arrive. If you arrive without a vaccination card you will not be permitted to stay with us and will not receive a refund. ----- CHECK-IN TIME: 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Please arrive within this time window. You may purchase a check-in extension for $15 in advance or $30 on arrival if absolutely necessary.

On the southeastern edge of the White Mountain National Forest, close to the New Hampshire-Maine border, the town of Conway is surrounded by opportunities for adventure. A popular activity is taking a scenic drive along the Kancamagus Highway, a 34.5-mile route that stretches from Lincoln to Conway, particularly during leaf-peeping season, as is hiking and camping at the National Forest campsites along the way. Nearby Cranmore Mountain Resort offers all-season activities, from adventure park rides and tubing in the summer to skiing and snowboarding in the winter.

Where to Go

North Conway

A 10-minute drive north of the town center, North Conway is well-known for its outlet stores and is home to the Conway Scenic Railroad, which operates historic railway routes aboard vintage trains that depart from a Victorian station—one route takes riders from North Conway through the Crawford Notch mountain pass.

Echo Lake

Just outside North Conway, Echo Lake is a popular swimming spot encircled by a trail. Other trails lead to the top of the 700-foot Cathedral Ledge, from where views of the Saco River Valley are spectacular.

Bartlett

A 25-minute drive northwest, the town of Bartlett is home to Diana’s Baths, a series of waterfalls lying along Lucy Brook in Bartlett, which is fed from Big Attitash Mountain. Just south of town, Bear Notch Road is one of the best places in the Mount Washington Valley for spotting moose, deer, and other wildlife.

When to Go

While spring and summer are ideal for enjoying the trails and lake activities on offer, these are the busiest seasons so you may encounter crowds and full parking lots at popular spots such as Diana’s Baths. Fall and winter have their own appeal with  the landscape busting into rich colors in fall and an abundance of snowy activities on offer in winter, from skiing on Cranmore Mountain to snowshoeing through the White Mountain National Forest.
